I wanted to know why the side that believes man has to have some worth in him first before baptism could happen...
why there are so many stringent rules placed upon the action of baptism...
when it is only a symbol in their minds anyway.

And the truth is that Repentance prepares the Way for Baptism...

This makes the most sense as to why there is insistence on sticking to the triune formula. Thanks.

The fleeing Israelites were baptized into Moses when they passed through the Red Sea...

All I did was show you that it is not wrong or forbidden
for Christians to judge each other within the church.

The problem in the west is that there are so many "churches"...

Is atpollard a member of YOUR Church?

The answer is no...

You are not both Lutherans or Catholics or Assembly of God or Four Square Christians...

In your very understandable desire to be united, you fire shots across each other's bows...

And the Battle is on...

This is the second thread I have posted a burst of posts and everyone stopped posting...

I do not think it is the brilliance of my posting...

Am I being seen as THAT toxic??

Or just too far off everyone's radar?

Arsenios

For me, you are the only one posting “conversation” and the topic has simply worn me out.
I found NO edification here, so I avoid excessive posting here.

Thanks for proving your statement to be wrong. Let the record stand.
Deliberately misquoting me by posting part of a conversation, not directed at you, out of context is not very nice.

Pretty extreme hyperbole, my friend.
1. Not hyperbole (exaggeration for dramatic effect). It is how things actually FEEL to me coming here and the reason I post less.
2. You keep calling me your “friend”, but your posts are not very friendly.

You yourself chose to QUOTE me to show I never once calling anyone or anything "evil" as you claim I did.

I quoted an entire thread of conversation that started with you and ended with a post directed at me about the duty of the Church to judge EVIL within the body. As I said, you misquoted me by posting part of a conversation out of context. Congratulations, you scored a debate point by bearing false witness against another Christian. You must be so proud of your accomplishment.

This thread [staff edit]. It needs something to remind us to stand up and proclaim God's word.
Thus...I present to you a song...

Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
Through eternal ages let His praises ring,
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
**Standing on the promises of God.*Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God my Savior;
Standing, standing,
**I’m standing on the promises of God.

2

Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,
**Standing on the promises of God.

3

Standing on the promises I now can see
Perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me;
Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,
**Standing on the promises of God.

4

Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
Bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord,
Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,
**Standing on the promises of God.

5

Standing on the promises I shall not fall,
List’ning every moment to the Spirit’s call.
Resting in my Savior as my All in all,
**Standing on the promises of God.

See post # 37

Friend, you stated I called some posters and/or their position "EVIL." Then you proved I did not. It's no more complicated than that. I find it odd you'd accuse ME of "bearing false witness" when you proved (in black and white) that I never stated what you claimed I did.

I had no desire to "score", I simply have a desire to keep our discussions honest and "clean." Friend, I did not intend to be "mean" or "picky" just to keep things honest and clean. IF you responded at all, I expected "Hey, a bit of hyperbole, you didn't actually say that."

This thread has gone downhill so I'm closing it. Thanks for all the responses I received.
