I agree again but I raise the issue of what do you use to lead someone to Christ, I am talking unchurched, not familiar with the bible, seems to me that the sinners prayer is useful at least I have found it so
And thats the question behind the thread topic.
And the answer lays in the question..what did the apostles use to lead people to christ..
Did they use the sinners prayer as formatted today?no theyy didnt.
Does that make the sinners prayer all bad.. ?ONly if it is presented byitself ,exclusive of the actual instructions in the good news.
The apostles preached..without exception..
Christ Jesus come in the flesh
Slain for us on the cross
Lay in theground 3 days and nights
Resurrected in victory.
And then preached the ONLY acceptable response we can ever have.
Believe
Repentance
Baptism
Recieving of the Holy spirit.
They never ever deviated from that message.
Paul pretty much states why...
Saying...i am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes.
So we see they knew something.they knew that the message itself is a spiritual message which has a spiritual effect on the hearts of mankind.it brings mankind to a crossroads..it enforces upon them a choice of eternal proportion.
The Lord Jesus taught them this message, then commanded they preach it.
For very good,precise,reason and purpose.
