How would an extra $1,000 every month help you out?

It would help quite a lot. I'd be able to afford the surgeries I need.

Is that after taxes? ;)

An extra $1,000 a month I think we'd probably use to travel and visit family. We could enjoy doing things with them instead of sitting around at their houses watching tv.

I could also donate more to charities that are local.

I'd probably travel a bit more, eat out with friends a bit more and give some of it to deserving local causes.

Money never hurts. I am more time constrained than money constrained. It helps i don't have any desires that cost a lot of money, oh other than I would like to move to Ohio and live among the conservative Mennonites. That is a big time issue to clean out 20 years of junk from hose and moving and money would definitely help.

Clearing out can be surprisingly easy. Last time my wife and I moved we took the chance to have a massive clearout, partly to reduce moving costs and partly to avoid our new house being cluttered right from the start. It was remarkable just how much stuff we got rid of. With few exceptions we don't miss it. We don't even remember most of it.
