Okay. Now the USA really has abandoned the idea of being a republic. You have a King who is above the law. Donald (the first of that name) is above the law, he can self-pardon to his heart's content.

Theoretically. However, the House of Congress would impeach him and the Senate would put him on trial and remove him from office. Once that happened he would no longer be President and would have no power of the pardon.
You have to love the checks and balances the founding fathers put into the US Constitution.

What's to stop him going out and shooting somebody, Hilary Clinton for example, and then pardoning himself of the crime. Impeaching and removing him from office will not reverse the murder. He's your king. Better get used to bowing and kneeling before him.

That's a stupid scenario that reveals more about your prejudice than anything else.

Just like you Australians bow and kneel before HM Queen Elizabeth II, right?

Donald can pardon himself, and Bill Clinton supports #MeToo, but doesn't need to apologize to Monica Lewinski - What's next on the eye-roll list? :D

Funny that not too much is heard from him. He's smart that way

I hear that he believes some rather strange things, but I imagine the belief are for the sake of votes more than anything else.

Are we here going to return to the real world soon? The president is not going to pardon himself. No one even advocated for him to do it. Yet we are in the midst of unhinged ravings about something that not only will not happen, but would make no sense, and which the president has already publicly disavowed.

That's right. It is called Christianity.

That is what most of the people you emulate hold against him more than anything else.

He is a Machiavellian. Remember...Machiavelli, the Roman Catholic who advised the Prince on how to deceive his people and thus win their support? Perhaps Trump is a closet Roman Catholic...

that's pretty far back in the closet if he is one. Have you seen the list of his spiritual advisors? Here is a list I found from 2017. Maybe they have already all been fired secretly replaced by Catholics. Who knows

Whatever they are, many still won't kneel before Donald whatever title you care to give him today.

The title I prefer for him is usurper and arch-criminal. :)
