Here's what happened to me:

I was a dog walker and got done with the walk, put the dog back in her crate and as I was walking back to my truck, I slipped on ice and tore a tendon in my right foot and broke my left wrist (which I didn't know at the time). I had four more dogs to walk that day. My hand and foot were hurting but I figured it was something that would just "go away" and I just needed to "walk it off". Got done walking all my scheduled dogs for the day and drove home.

It wasn't until I tried to pull my boots off that I realized my foot was all swollen and my wrist was throbbing. I drove myself to the ER and asked if they could check my hand and foot. The broken wrist showed up in the X-ray but I needed a MRI to check my foot. The MRI showed the torn tendon.

Nothing that turned out to be particularly serious but a couple that were a little more than I first thought.

A few years ago I was cycling on a country road, turned a corner at a junction and came face to face with a jogger. As we tried to avoid each other we ended up going the same way and collided. When I picked myself up I found it interesting that we were both more concerned that the other was OK, although later I found I'd scraped all down the side of one leg where the bike went down with me still on it. Nothing serious, but not an entirely pleasant surprise when hot water and soap found it in the shower after my ride.

Then was the time I slipped on ice while hiking in the mountains and landed on my rear end (some would say I was fortunate to land on a well padded area). Thankfully it happened on a section of flat rocks but I still had half a mile of loose jagged rocks to cross to get back to a dirt road, part of which I ended up practically crawling along (literally, using both hands and both feet) because I knew a similar slip/fall would be really nasty on such a hard and uneven surface. When I got to the dirt road I discovered that in my attempt to right myself I hit my hand against something (presumably a tree) and ripped a load of skin from my fingers.
