So... What are YOU doing? - Part 8

I think I've finally fixed all the issues with the church computer. All except one, which I think is an incompatibility issue, and I've figured out a workaround to keep things going.

    Drain Hot Water Heater?

Is the drain valve on the heater high enough that you can put something underneath it? If the contents are still under pressure that should help get a load of it out if you can route it to some other drain (e.g. to the washing machine, as Josiah mentioned). Then perhaps you can drain it into a...

    Drain Hot Water Heater?

Can you feed a hose out of a window? Failing that is buying a longer hose a sensible option for you, or get a stronger fitting to connect two hoses? Personally I'd be wary of something that might crack if you're talking about spraying hot water everywhere, moreso than if it's cold water.

    Drain Hot Water Heater?

I'd assume draining onto a driveway would work. If the water is hot the grass won't like it.

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 8

A hugely tedious morning trying and failing to fix some issues with the new church computer. Now the church is locked so it will have to wait until tomorrow.

    Drain Hot Water Heater?

Drain to the street.... handy if the street is readily accessible from the water heater. Presumably most of the water comes out under pressure? Otherwise it seems like a lot of water to try and get rid of, if the heater is in the basement.

Taco Bell, anyone loves it too?

I prefer authentic restaurants to chains too, just don't have too many of them around here.

    Drain Hot Water Heater?

Our furnace provides our hot water so no need for us. I am considering installing an electric hot water heater, even if only so I can turn the furnace off entirely during the summer months. It gets pretty tedious when I'm working in the basement and the furnace fires up to provide hot water. A...

    Starbuck's, anyone loves it too?

I don't care for Charbucks at all. Drinks that are mostly milk with a tiny amount of coffee that isn't brilliant, marketed more as a lifestyle product than anything else. I couldn't tell you the last time I set foot in a Charbucks.

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 8

So the thing you're working on is intended to split water into hydrogen and oxygen? Are you planning on burning the hydrogen to generate energy?

    Favourite Coke Flavours?

I can't say I like Coke or any of its derivatives. I don't care for Pepsi either.

Onion Rings, anyone loves them too?

I like onion rings. I had some only this evening and enjoyed them very much.

What are your thoughts on drunkenness?

It certainly can do that, and does in many cases. Just not all cases. In my pre-Christian days there were times I got so drunk I couldn't even stand up but it hasn't guided me to the dire consequences that it has for some. A guy I knew from my previous church was a former alcoholic and he sold...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 8

Off the top of my head I'd say something from Nikola Tesla, but would struggle with specifics.

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 8

My fitness tracker said I had a good night's sleep last night but curiously I woke not feeling particularly refreshed. Apparently I had plenty of deep sleep but not enough REM sleep. I'm not sure how it tells them apart. Debating going for a run before it gets hot, or maybe leaving the run...

    Do we need prophets today?

Honestly, this isn't a good argument for anything. Of course it would be hard to study if there were thousands of extra books in Scripture. If you really want to go there you could just make the case the book wouldn't have survived through history because nobody was strong enough to lift it, or...

    Do we need prophets today?

... except that if there is then an earthquake in LA, and it falls into the ocean, and the person who foretold it checks all the boxes about being a Godly person showing the fruit of the Spirit etc, why should we preclude the possibility that God will give us advance warning of something...

What are your thoughts on drunkenness?

This seems like the kind of thing that needs to be considered as something other than a matter of strict law. The trouble with trying to apply a strict law to this is that you end up with all sorts of issues with definitions, not least how to define what it means to be drunk. Obviously in...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 8

I went for my walk before it got too hot. It was still pretty hot so I kept my pace down a bit. That wasn't a particularly conscious effort, I was just walking at a pace that felt about right and it was about 30-40 seconds per mile slower than I've been doing recently. I was OK with that, my...
