A deeply troubling and awful thing.

Be that all true, nevertheless it remains an awful, and eternal, tragedy that so many people are lost. No one could argue otherwise.

    "Experiences" possibly related to salvation?

Thanks for the response, JTF. I must admit that I still harbor doubts about what elicited all those experiences. I guess it completely just blows me away that the God of all the universe(s) would actually communicate with me at all. I need to be very careful that it's indeed from Him, and...

    Hebrews 11:1

Yup, that too. "It is within God that we live and have our being." And God is, of course, limitless.

Christ died for them not appointed to Wrath.

I see your point Bruce. Guess we'll all have to wait to get the full picture, it's all in Gods hands, and He always does right. Bottom line.

    Hebrews 11:1

Maybe I should have been clearer about what I said, of course faith is not a product of our physical brain. God gave us our physical brain for the things of this physical world, but he also gives us faith ( a kind of spiritual analogy of our brain, perhaps?) for the things of the spirit...

Christ died for them not appointed to Wrath.

Bruce - the people I was referring to are all people, including those which Calvinists would refer to as the un-elect. But you speak of all of them, it seems, as if they aren't yet ready for higher revelations pertaining to salvation. I'm speaking of presenting the gospel of Jesus to everyone...

Christ died for them not appointed to Wrath.

Bruce Letter - So you're saying we should conceal the truth from people by telling everyone we present the gospel to that Jesus died in their place because he loves them, when the truth is, the great majority of those to whom we speak he really didn't die for at all, and, in reality, actually...

Christ died for them not appointed to Wrath.

"Even denying the Lord THAT BOUGHT THEM." If the Lord bought these people, then they couldn't have been damned to hell from the beginning.

    "Experiences" possibly related to salvation?

OK, some things I've experienced, both before and since coming to Christ. I now believe at least some of these things are valid. To begin with, a couple of months BEFORE asking God to reveal to me wether or not both He and this gospel of Jesus was real, I had a series of dreams. They were...

Christ died for them not appointed to Wrath.

So then, in the interest of being honest with whomever I speak with, should I begin evangelizing by saying, "Hey, sorry to say, but, chances are likely that God hates your guts and has doomed you to scream in agony and despair for all eternity in hell. Of course...

    Universal Atonement - Part 2

Matthew 11:28-30 Why would Jesus cry out in a loud voice among the hundreds of people within earshot, not to mention all the people who have read those recorded words down through the centuries, if the offer of salvation was only for a few of them? I can't imagine a more callous, cruel, and...

Prayer and God's Will - Why Do So Many Christians Misunderstand?

Yeah but we're approaching a point where extensive annihilation is really possible. Our intelligence is surpassing our wisdom to manage it.

    Frozen embryos are people

I've decided to seek whatever has so mysteriously but effectively convinced me that my own critical thinking is critically insufficient to get me anywhere but running in circles within myself. I wish you the very best on your own journey, hermano.

    Frozen embryos are people

My mistake for not stating something more clearly - I didn't ask 'Jesus' to reveal anything to me, I asked God, IF he were really there and possibly listening to me, to communicate to me if the whole thing about Jesus was true, or not. Didn't really expect an answer, but was shocked...

Prayer and God's Will - Why Do So Many Christians Misunderstand?

Precursor to modern science. Could be dangerous stuff too. Opening doors to powers we can't properly control (think massive particle accelerators).

    Divine hiddenness

Evidence? According to current scientific evidence, nearly 14 billion years ago there existed nothing. At all. Not even time and space. Then WHAM, and all kinds of junk came violently flying out of nowhere, racing outwards in every direction into a cold, black, infinite void. Rocks, dust...

"Reformed" (non denomination specific) subculture question

Well, give them a good shake-up, and if they're offended, explain that 'open discussion' should mean open discussion.

What, specifically then, are these products of alchemy that bring this ascendant life, Mercury?

What do we tell unsaved about biblical election?

Maybe election isn't an either\or situation, or a who-chooses-first situation. Perhaps as God chooses us, we are simultaneously choosing him, and vice versa. Neither exclusively chooses apart from the other, so election isn't predicated upon a movement forward into belief from either entity.
