    The Mass as scripture.

In the Penitential Prayer Blessed Mary and all the angels and saints are invoked to pray for us to the Lord our God. That is encompassed in these words: I confess to almighty God, and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have sinned through my own fault in my thoughts and in my words, in what...

I could not get connected to CH today. I received "database error" as error message. I tried three times then gave up and watched X-Men Apocalypse which seems to me to be a very Catholic name for a film. X being short of Christ and Apocalypse being the name we give to the last book of the holy...

I had some peanut paste (butter in USA parlance) on wholemeal bread for a light-ish dinner.

I received "database error" messages on Wednesday and once today (Thursday) but since I am 11 or 12 ahead of the USA east coast and around 15 or 16 ahead of the west coast USA I imagine it would be Tuesday and Wednesday in the USA.

Church... A word of pagan origin -

Perhaps it is time to let this thread fall into silence since its premise was shown to be in error. The English word "church" is no more pagan than the English word "Jesus" is.

Church... A word of pagan origin -

The body lends itself to a natural hierarchy. Head, hands, feet play prominent roles. Trunk, hips, thighs play less prominent roles. Paul explains it in 1 Corinthians chapter 12. The Church like the body also has natural hierarchies with teaching, preaching, governing prominent and caring...

    Richard Dawkins reads hate mail.

I will not give the youtube url for the video clip with Richard Dawkins reading his hate mail. But I do have to say I have rarely laughed as much. The mail is full of expletives, hate expressions, yet Richard reads it with such evident glee and with such a charming accent that it is hard not to...

Exactly what is worship and why do it?

What is worship? Okay, it is bowing down to and acknowledging a worthy person or being. In the case of worshipping God is it more than bowing down and giving acknowledgement to him? If it is then exactly what is the more that is involved in worshipping God? And why worship God anyway?

    My Choice for President

Keep praying for God's good will to be done (as it is already done in heaven) in the USA presidential election. It's the best way to shape your own thoughts about politics into godly thoughts in conformity to the image of Christ which you bear as a Christian. It is also an excellent way to hear...

Church... A word of pagan origin -

I keep trying to explain to anybody who wants to read that none but God is perfectly and completely and always right. But so many people have trouble with the additional concept that instrumentally sometimes God's infallibility is exercised through people such as the Apostles when they wrote...
