I understand the whore who site astride seven hills and rules the nations to be ancient pagan Rome. The empire that conquered the nations and held them in her thrall forcing them to worship her emperor and who persecuted Christians to be the "whore of Babylon" but I can see that you've swallowed...

Ruth's Friendship Fellowship-Everyone Welcome, Come On In Part 4

I like the dowager countess and the story is quite good but it is a soap opera even though it is in fancy dress and very expensive looking with good actors.

What's better "vaporub" or a no-name chest rub that is cheaper by half or more?

We need a "like" that includes raucous laughter :)

"Do you love God?" or is the "you" in that question self salvation?

Odd that you should write that Josiah, the writers of the gospels and the catholic epistles in the new testament also liked to be loose and sloppy about this law and gospel dichotomy you write of so often. Paul also was loose and sloppy on that matter. Luther was keen on it I presume from what...

"Do you love God?" or is the "you" in that question self salvation?

Catholics don't do narrow words when speaking (or writing) of justification and sanctification. Maybe that's what went wrong with Luther and Calvin. They got too narrow and constricted their theology to death :P

What are you eating? - Part 2

sour cream with vegetable stock powder dissolved into it (only a small half teaspoon full) makes a very good dip. The salt in the stock counteracts the sourness in the cream and leaves a lovely savouriness in its wake :)

"Do you love God?" or is the "you" in that question self salvation?

The question here is not who came first but rather who participated. Was Peter a participant or was it all Jesus and no Peter. John 21:15-19 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I...

Perhaps it is because you did not manage to complete reading my response that you have formed an erroneous opinion about my beliefs and the meaning of the words that you did read. It is true that I believe that there is one holy catholic and apostolic church not many churches that all have equal...

    The "ing" game

Icing :) I do not think administrating is a real word :P Administering is a real word. Administrate is real too but isn't the present tense verb administration? She was engaged in the administration of ChristianityHaven when suddenly she was struck down by fake words :P

I just finished cooking some chicken in peanut sauce with vegetables and nice diced tomatoes. Now I am cooking rice with a little pasta mixed in. Soon, God willing, I shall eat some of the chicken and sauce and all of the rice & pasta :) :lick:

Bishops are not rabbis. Bishops are not teachers or sages or wise men even though a good bishop is a teacher and sagely and has wisdom because a bishop is Christ's minister. A rabbi is a teacher who teaches from the accumulated writings of other rabbis who have annotations recorded in the Talmud...

What's so "good" about off the cuff prayers compared to written ones?

Thoughtful prayer is good whenever the thoughts are godly and I think that godly thoughts are promoted by reading a psalm and a prayer like the Lord's prayer and the heart soon is subdued to the obedience of God when the thoughts are godly and then the written prayer is a prayer of the heart. No...

That was funny. I hope it wasn't a church "service" ... but even if it was it was good entertainment :P
