    It's actually a scientific matter. The unborn child/fetus is either a human or it is not. The answer is not simply a matter of philosophy or religion. And if that is true, the government has as much right and duty to regulate it as it does when regulating speed limits or pesticides.

    First, the Lateran Council of AD 649 is not Scripture. You claimed that Scripture verified the idea of Mary's Perpetual Virginity. Second, AD 649 is not "always taught," yet that is what you claimed. It's well into the Middle Ages.
