Saturday, 12th September 2015 MORNING I have seen his ways, and will heal him. Isa. 57:18 I am the LORD that healeth thee. Exo. 15:26 O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path...

    Once saved always saved?

I am inclined to think that those who proclaim "once saved always saved" really mean that they feel saved and so want to feel assured that they will in fact be saved. Feeling saved is exactly the problem with the wicked in the last judgement passage from the gospel according to saint Matthew...

What must I do to be saved?

A man asked saints Paul and Silas "Men, what must I do to be saved?" (Acts 16:30) and the saints replied "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.". The story is instructive, but after they gave him that short answer "they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to...

    Once saved always saved?

Faith that is able to make one just is faith that results in fidelity to Christ and a life marked by obedience (as much as grace permits and resolute actions provides) to Christ's commandments. Hence the Lord's description of the last Judgement in the gospel according to saint Matthew.Mat...

    Once saved always saved?

Seems to me that since one is saved when God passes judgement and declares one in grace and in Christ that one cannot face that judgement again and hence one is "always saved" having been "saved by grace" but this all takes place in the judgement (personal judgement or last judgement whichever...

    False teachers

Yes, we were agreeing. It seemed useful to state clearly what heresy is at work in the "prosperity teaching" about the Lord and hell. It is a very serious heresy that amounts to either a denial of the unity of the Lord Jesus Christ's person or denies his deity.

    False teachers

The idea that Jesus was cut off from God and tortured in hell is a heresy. Since Jesus is God he cannot be cut off from God. The very idea is absurd. As for torture in hell, where does holy scripture or holy tradition ever say such a thing?
