Ruth's Friendship Fellowship-Everyone Welcome, Come On In - Part 5

Most of the insects are the crawling kind because it is still too cool for the flying kind to be out and about. Maybe in the middle of the day bees will fly but I think that they are still keeping in their nice warm and comfy hives.

Ruth's Friendship Fellowship-Everyone Welcome, Come On In - Part 5

It is still cool here, still some of the chill of winter at night but in the day time we get into the low 20s C. Which is lovely for sitting outside to watch the birds and insects and any little wild animals that happen by.

    Kavanaugh has an accuser

Why does it matter if the "crimes" were under state laws when the appointment to the SCOTUS is a matter of character? The evidence can be gathered, evaluated, and a decision made without involving using police resources and the FBI is an appropriate body to gather and investigate the evidence...

    Flat Earth?

The Earth is not like a piece of paper in shape. It doesn't have an Ice wall at the edges. But pretending that it is seems like fun for a lot of people. So they get all sorts of jollies from writing serious papers and creating interesting postulations to explain the apparent spherical shape...

Are we in the Laodicean church age?

I do not believe that the letters to the seven churches in the Apocalypse of saint John the Theologian are about seven ages of the Church. They are letters to churches that all existed in the first century. But they do have value for people today. Each of the churches has good things and most...

    Kavanaugh has an accuser

Investigating the claims of the two women who have accused judge Kavanaugh is due process. Taking the evidence from witnesses and from accusers as well as the accused and any forensic evidence, documented evidence, and other forms of evidence is what due process is intended to accomplish. Then...

    Salvation

Brother Arsenios, in order to accept MennoSota's theology you'd need to deny holy scripture's teaching about baptism. You'd need to have at least two baptisms. One with water that does either nothing or very little but acts as a sign and symbol of a second baptism that is administered, he...

Faith without good works is dead.

If what MennoSota writes is what Baptists teach then ... It is odd, from my perspective, that a religion that calls itself Baptist has such an impotent view of baptism. It seems like the name of a religion ought to tell you something about what that religion is about. And it seems that...

    Sow or sew ...

Some of saint Paul's thirteenth chapter of the first letter to the Corinthians had its roots in the first post. Some of the sermon on the mount had its roots in the first post. Some of saint James' letter had its roots in the first post. It's source for good things. Do you know who wrote it?

Faith without good works is dead.

Seems to me that everybody is saying that they are in full agreement with the title of the thread and the letter of saint James from which it is quoted. That being the case why all these posts accusing some of "salvation by means of works righteousness" and others accusing some of "salvation...

Faith without good works is dead.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:8-10

Careful what you wish for ...

After leaving the mountain Jesus and his disciples made their way through Galilee; and he did not want anyone to know, because he was instructing his disciples; he was telling them, 'The Son of Man will be delivered into the hands of men; they will put him to death; and three days after he...

    Sow or sew ...

Wherever you find jealousy and ambition, you find disharmony, and wicked things of every kind being done; whereas the wisdom that comes down from above is essentially something pure; it also makes for peace, and is kindly and considerate; it is full of compassion and shows itself by doing...

    Wicked thinking

The godless say to themselves, 'Let us lie in wait for the virtuous man, since he annoys us and opposes our way of life, reproaches us for our breaches of the law and accuses us of playing false to our upbringing. Let us see if what he says is true, let us observe what kind of end he himself...

Faith without good works is dead.

The title for this thread is a quote from the letter written by saint James. Is it objectionable? The quote I mean. Faith without good works is dead.

    Kavanaugh has an accuser

Seems that he has a second accuser. In 1983/4 academic year at Yale it is alleged that he engaged in sexual misconduct. The allegation is from a 53 year old woman. She would have been 18 or maybe 19 at the time of the event in the allegation. The allegation involves exposing himself at a party.
