The Unbelieving Pharisees of John 10

And what do you imagine it is when I list a whole bunch of verses in response to your erroneous claim...and you then answer back, saying to me that: (1) I didn't offer you any verses (!)...and, what's more (2) you didn't read the ones that I posted!? That doesn't even make sense in addition...

Jesus died for the sins of the world

I'm not sure that we understand Scripture by first deciding for Jesus that He could have said "it" better, in a different way, and because he didn't do that, we are free to assign any meaning to the passage that we choose. ...which proves nothing. We all know that some are his sheep and some...

    looking for Samuel

So...no church affiliation or preference. Okay, but you can understand that it helps the rest of us to know where new members are coming from when we get into religious discussions.

    U.S.-Russia prisoner exchange

So it would appear, especially now that it's been reported that the Russians offered a one-for-one trade of our choosing, meaning that the USA could have gotten the Marine instead of the drug smuggler in exchange for the Arms Dealer. That information seemed to be confirmed when the Biden...

Of what church are you a member? And what is the question you are asking, or putting forward for discussion, with this thread? Thanks.

Jesus died for the sins of the world

"He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for our sins only but also for the sins of the whole world." 1 John 2:2

Daily defense of the divinity of Jesus Christ!

You'd think so, but just yesterday one of our members was arguing that unless Jesus said "I am God" in exactly those words...then he wasn't God. Or at least we cannot trust what he DID say about his own identity. And "Lord" was specifically ruled out by that poster.

Jesus died for the sins of the world

"Chirp?" That's funny, especially coming from a guy wearing a white hanky on his head.

Jesus died for the sins of the world

Well, you didn't touch the question of whether or not you would call Joe Biden a murderer just as you called Martin Luther a murderer. After all, Biden keeps the border open, defying law, and allowing many illegal immigrants to come in unchecked. A Border Guard was killed by one such...

Jesus died for the sins of the world

Very well, but we were told earlier that the many references to "world" were references to trees and dirt (!) and had nothing to do with mankind. And of course, we were dealing with a person who says whatever he wants, explains nothing about it but just says it, and then repeats it forty or...

Women the gifts G-d gave to them, A list of powerful verses and scripture G-d gave to women.

There are several ways of understanding what Paul was getting at there, but the issue we have been discussing does not depend on understanding that one verse. There are some fundamentalist churches which forbid women pastors on account of that verse, but 3/4 of all the Christians in the world...

Jesus died for the sins of the world

"Careful reading will show" that the reason you have no reply to offer owes to your pride as a self-made theologian LOL. I recommend that you read carefully and study to see where you went wrong.

Women the gifts G-d gave to them, A list of powerful verses and scripture G-d gave to women.

I didn't do that. I admit that I gave you only some of the many proofs in the Bible that show a male-only clergy: bishops, priests, deacons. That doesn't mean that the point wasn't proven. There is much more than could be presented and I thought that some of the proofs would show you enough to...

Jesus died for the sins of the world

Jesus did die for them, but they pointedly rejected it, thinking of themselves as more moral and dutiful in the practice of the Hebrew religion than anything he could offer. Don't try to make the verses say what they do not say.

Women the gifts G-d gave to them, A list of powerful verses and scripture G-d gave to women.

You're simply picking verses out of the Bible that appeal to something in you...and discarding the rest of what God had to say, including what Jesus specifically directed. Theologically speaking, that's invalid. When it comes to this matter of women in the church, all the facts are on the side...

    Were the Reformers Saved?

    Good grief. 🥱

Jesus died for the sins of the world

Wait a minute. That's a sequence of events you are referring to and the fact that everything may be seen as God's will being worked out in the affairs of men. That, however, does not equate to the issue we were discussing (the Elect). Okay. So? You are stil not saying anything that relates to...

    Were the Reformers Saved?

And my advice to you is to study to prove what you think it true, before falsely accusing me or anyone. The difference is that I DO know something about the topics in which I participate while you just throw out absurd claims and phony history in order to annoy the rest of the people here...

    Were the Reformers Saved?

This is just ridiculous trolling meant to give you some sort of perverse thrill thanks to outraging everyone else by being more and more absurd with your stories. There is no evidence that Luther ever killed witches.
