God tells me that some prefer to squabble over learning and foolishness over knowledge. And God tells me that the truth is that God didn't write the book but people who were faithful did write it as they were led by the Holy Spirit.

The spelling for the word that best described what I wrote is accurate but if you think that accuracy is petty then okay - there's no accounting for chat forum spelling.

The strangers who also left Egypt with the Hebrews were also saved from snake bite by looking upon the image raised up on the pole.

God tells me that the faithful are justified by works and not by faith alone.

No, that is not true at all, God wrote no words in the book - though he is said to have written words on tablets of stone - it was faithful men of God who wrote as they were led by the Spirit of God and there's a world of difference between faithful men and God.

No one looked upon the pole but the chosen people who were faithful and obedient looked upon the serpent image raised up on the pole; the ones that looked upon the image on the pole were saved from snake bite. How appropriate that it is a serpent's bite that endangered - just as the serpent...

    Love

Excellent. Then you know, because of context, that the faithful are called to trust and obey because they are justified by works and not by faith alone. Their love extends to obedience as well as the warm feelings associated with love. As the Lord Jesus Christ who is the Lord as well as the...

    Love

Quite right, the scripture that says that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone - remember Context!!! That is what Love means, to trust and obey because there's no other way to be joyfully incorporated into Jesus Christ than to trust and obey.

So saint James was right; a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. Good of you to make the point even if later the point is denied by other posts.

No scripture inspired of God teaches that. But the holy scriptures do teach that in God is no darkness. The lesson to learn is that the bible is not God.

You're welcome and if I may make a suggestion ... it would be better and more useful if the default were set to "posts" instead of "threads"

The holy scriptures say that it is by his stripes that the faithful are healed and that by his death the faithful die to sin so it is in fact by the man on the cross that the faithful are saved his resurrection serves a wholly different purpose that is connected to glorification and sharing the...

It can be done like this: Click the "Posts" at the bottom of the page. It is in Advanced search. The search results will look like this: I can't see a way to make the images bigger once they are transferred to CH; they get shrunk ... alas.

    WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange arrested

I had some sympathy for him in the past but now I kind of think that he's made the mess he is in at least in part. I'd be a bit unhappy to see him imprisoned but I would not be bothered if he just became unimportant and not newsworthy.

A careful read can be very helpful. The sermon in the gospel according to Matthew is about three chapters long.

    Context!!!

It means that context can make matters worse for a "gentle and loving" view about Christian beliefs regarding God, creation, judgement, heaven, hell and so forth.
