    Should Christians get tattoos?

"Come out of her my people" is a reference to exiting Babylon the Great in the Apocalypse of saint John the theologian. It doesn't have anything to do with tattoos.

    Sunday thoughts

Blessings on him who comes in the name of the Lord. Jesus went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. When he drew near to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount that is called Olivet, he sent two disciples, saying, ‘Go into the village opposite, where on entering you...

    Love

I do not think that commanding sabbath keeping on pain of death is about love of neighbour unless you define love as stoning a law breaker.

    Artificial intelligence a fearful development?

I'm not so sure that biology and technology (meaning electronics and computer chippery) will be doing a lot of merging but I am fairly sure than machine learning and some kinds of "AI" will progressively make human knowledge and human genius less and less significant as machine bruit force...

    Biases, imaginary faults, and sins.

Extermination is worse than avoidance. Better to avoid Islam than go nuts with hate and exterminate Muslims. We saw some of the latter in New Zealand's city Christchurch recently. All one can say about that is that hate can lead to some very bad results.

    SACRED SCRIPTURE

Of course one could reject what the Catechism of the Catholic Church says about sacred scripture and follow some semi-middle-ages teacher like Martin Luther. Not too sure if that will end well. Look at how many denominations have sprouted out of the fertile soil of Luther's making. It's...

    Experiment.

I imagine that the psychology text was discussing human psychology rather than ontology. If the Orthodox get worked up by psychologists saying that a person's physiology is determined by genetic as well as experiential factors then the Orthodox are weird. :scared:

    Biases, imaginary faults, and sins.

I just can't work myself up into a lather of hatred for Islam. It's just another religion. No more insidious or evil than many forms of Christianity. No less benign than Buddhism, Hinduism, or Judaism. Islam is bigger than Buddhism, Hinduism, and Judaism (the latter being a tiny religion in...

    Should Christians get tattoos?

What does it matter if you get a tattoo or not. I have none but plenty of people have some. Is anyone willing to say "you'll go to hell if you get a tattoo"?

    Australia: PM sets election date

You guys ought to change to a parliamentary system with elections every 4 or 5 years and a PM but no president with executive power and all the ministers responsible for executive government being drawn from the lower house of the parliament so you can vent your spleen about how badly they did...

Does that mean that people play no role whatever in salvation?

    Australia: PM sets election date

Mercifully Australian election campaigns last a few weeks out of every three years rather than being continuous as appears to be the case in the USA where there's a federal election every 2 years on fixed dates with "primaries" every 4 years (the primaries seem to last about a year) followed by...

Indeed, such naughty people ... imagine asking questions and analysing what the holy scriptures say! such effrontery.

By walking with their legs and feet and maybe riding on their domestic animals and carts. By obedience and work. By joining God's people through works and faith but not by faith alone because if it was alone they would have stayed at home.

That wasn't so hard to admit. You were wrong to say that God wrote the bible but now you have admitted that men (and possibly a woman or two) wrote it and that is good. Admitting one's errors is part of repentance.
