Who is "him that justifieth the ungodly"?

Apprehending what? You did mention "shed blood," but the import of the statement appears to be that the idea of God having graciously forgiven sin, depending perhaps only upon our willingness to accept it, is enough. If so, I can't agree with that. If it were so, receiving the "news" (i.e...

Worst thing your sibling did to you

I'm not surprised, but that's because I have witnessed the interchange between some of these siblings today, knowing from the sisters that they still bear the resentment and are not of a mind simply to forget it. Maybe if the brothers (in the cases I'm thinking about) had a clue and apologized...

Worst thing your sibling did to you

Except for the "all best friends" part, I've heard this same account from a number of my friends about their own experiences. The surprising thing to me was that the tormenters have assumed that all the siblings are friends now that they're grown up, BUT the sibs who were on the receiving end...

Who Are the Two Houses of God's People Per His Word?

Most students of the Lost Ten Tribes point to Scriptural passages that suggest that they migrated across continental Europe before settling in what is now England, however.

    USA Republican choices, in order

I have to say "yes" to that, but the question wasn't intended to appeal to people who don't like Trump, but instead was just a sampling of opinion in case Trump ended his candidacy for any reason. Call it a game or exercise for us to play with if the chances of Trump backing out are actually...

    Christians and War.

Well, the point that was made concerned the attitude of the Christian churches. Whether they were in step with Our Lord's own thinking and teaching would be a different issue.

    USA Republican choices, in order

The recent posts about this week's debate (with or without Trump) led to somebody speculating as follows-- Suppose Trump chooses not to run after all. What would your list of preferred nominees--in order--then look like? List as many or as few as you want.

Who is "him that justifieth the ungodly"?

Right, but that language does not mean that the door to conversion is forever closed to them. If that were the case, all the times that Jesus called people to repentance, or to believe in him, or the like, would make no sense. I do not think that we can conclude that Jesus was talking just to...

USA Should Trump take part in the Fox News debate?

I'm inclined to think that each of them will be trying to rise out of the pack and establish himself as THE alternative to Trump. That will require every one of them who aspires to have that happen to criticize Trump for one thing or another (as most of them have been doing already, some with...

    Kitchens

Very interesting "takes" from Lamb and Josiah on the open floor plan. Also Lamb's point about the particular disadvantage of an open floor plan so far as the kitchen is concerned. I had never considered that point, although it makes perfect sense now that I read her post. It also makes me...

USA Should Trump take part in the Fox News debate?

Could be. And that is a fair answer to one of the questions asked by the Original Post--what the consequences will be if Trump chooses not to debate. I have a hunch that if he does not debate, the also-rans will bore the daylights out of the viewers who will see almost all of them as not...

USA Should Trump take part in the Fox News debate?

A slightly different question... Will there be anything other than a one-party government for good IF the 2024 election goes to Biden or Newsome or whomever the Ds put up in 2024? Almost every country that's permanently in the hands of a single party still allows elections to be held, but they...

USA Should Trump take part in the Fox News debate?

Should President Trump take part in the August debate on Fox News between Republican candidates? If he does not, what would the consequences (good or bad) likely be?

Who is "him that justifieth the ungodly"?

If they never have heard of Him, I'd think we would be on safe grounds to conclude that they are not saved but that the possibility of any of these people getting to hear of Him and so believe would remain for the rest of their lives. Therefore...subjective.

Fellowship time before or after church?

Every congregation that I've been part of, except one, has had a "coffee hour" for socializing following the worship service. As for the question about snacks, I think a few of them did have something like that, but usually it was just coffee and conversation.

Is this Bible verse a mistranslation?

I don't see any reason for separating those two. That would be nice, if true, but of course we are not the equals of Jesus who was God in the flesh, so we need to be careful when using that language.

Who is "him that justifieth the ungodly"?

Interestingly enough, there isn't any generally recognized Bible translation in which the punctuation calls into question the meaning of "all" as referring to all. So, that's a lot of Bible versions and a lot of Bible translators disagreeing with your own thinking, prism.

    The Sparkle Creed

It's shocking, I agree, and I can believe that it is or was actually in use in some wacko churches, but the wording really, really looks like satire. I mean...God's pronouns are plural and Jesus wore a "fabulous tunic!" That's not a Creed, not even a heretical one.

Who is "him that justifieth the ungodly"?

No. It's contrary to the Bible. That said, it's now your turn. See if you can offer something substantial in support of your theory rather than doing what you usually do instead, which is 1) to turn it back onto the rest of the posters by immediately putting a question to them instead of...

Is this Bible verse a mistranslation?

Of course we should fear the Lord. But it's not because he isn't merciful. After all, He became one of his own creatures and died a painful death on Earth in order for us to escape from the just rewards of our evil deeds. However, the notion that God is good like your grandmother and will wink...
