Question--
If for some reason, you felt conscience-bound to change denominations...
which other one, do you think, would be the one most likely to meet your preferences in doctrine and worship style?
Why so?
(This is about a personal decision and is not related to any of the online quizzes...
It's hard to see how Trump's speeches would do much to intimidate the officers of the court. A more likely scenario would be for the prosecution eagerly to use as many as possible of these comments against him as showing some supposed attempt by him to overthrow the government or something else...
I have counted myself as "lucky" a few times when something disastrous could very easily have happened, and I tend to think that "someone" was looking out for me on those occasions.
Of course, we might say that God himself intervened or had some purpose in life for me that kept me from the...
Oh yeah. That's what a long list of different denominations like to say about themselves. LOL
Apparently, it makes the membership feel better about their affiliation and more likely to stay with it rather than change churches.
That is not credible, considering that the Hamas attack was well thought-out, planned, and carefully arranged. While Israel may have been unaware, for whatever reason, the idea that Hamas simply reacted to some event in Israel and did so in this fashion on a ONE DAY notice is not possible...
Well, the real question would deal with the importance of the differences.
If Christian #1 believes, for example, that the end times' account in Revelation is literally accurate in all details (flying through the sky, etc.) while Christian #2 thinks much of that account is poetic but true and...
God can and may cure any misfortune. But that does not mean that Earthly medicine is not to be used. After all, God made all of that possible and He may very well direct the believer to the right course of action involving medicine, counseling, etc.
What people tend to expect as an answer to...
In fact, writings such as the Bible itself (!) affirm the concept of a salvation experience as opposed to a lifelong struggle to live in a way that would be judged by God as sufficient to merit a person eternal salvation.
What's more, it doesn't matter which version of the Bible is...
Today is All Saints Day, an important day on the church calendar and, by the way, the reason there's a Halloween. But I suppose there isn't an obvious image that represents it.
I like smaller ones because there is a real sense of community there. In the larger ones, such as I used to know, there is a certain mechanical and impersonal mood. I often left worship, in the large church I once attended, feeling like I'd done my duty but that's about all.
I'm sympathetic, but the question then is "Who would we want to be nominated instead of these two?"
Neither party has any "white knight" waiting in the wings.
About that, I think you're going to assume whatever makes you feel better. ;)
I use both terms, but If the term "Catholic Church" is used, it can also refer to the other Catholic denominations, not just the Church of Rome and its various rites .
I don't know about the "Jesus told Peter" that the 27 books are canonical part of the statement, but it's undeniable that the Roman Catholic Church holds and teaches that she was, from the beginning, the one and only church that Jesus founded and that the Bible as we know it was the creation of...
I'd guess that it means we do not know everything about how heaven works or what it's like.
Everybody wants to be reunited with deceased loved ones, but we are not given in Scripture to know the answer when it comes to this matter.
I've thought for awhile that the word terrorist has lost all its meaning in today's world.
Everyone's a "terrorist" in the mind of somebody or other, including people who dare to speak at local school board meetings and just about any society that is said to be unfair towards some residents in...
Well, you appear simply to misunderstand the message--and refuse to consider all the Bible verses that would alert you to the mistake. Perhaps a visit to the "Ask A Pastor" section of the forum would help.
