    Very nice Maundy Thursday service last night. The 'Stripping of the Altar' was especially beautiful/poignant. This year will be a bit more reflective for a variety of reasons.

    But if the 'ritual' is not just that, but contains within it the desire to "repent and live fully for the cause of Christ" as well, then it is no longer for ritual sake. Or am I misunderstanding you?

    Sometimes Jargon can be helpful - if it captures an idea to the point it can be easily explained. Then, if it's not clear, it can be expanded on. An example might be (In A.A.) "One Day at a Time!". It's a neat reminder that those in sobriety only have one day at a time to take care of themselves...
