    Sinners Prayer in the Bible?

That tract is rather distressing. I'd run the other way from anyone who handed me that. Edit - I've kept reading tracts. My God...

    Hero worship?

My sentiments exactly. I hadn't expected the whole day to be a big to-do about it. I searched you-tube a bit, and found an interview with him from last year to get an idea of how he viewed himself. Not at all how he's being portrayed now. I watched a humble guy, struggling with his memory, and...

    Hero worship?

Gord Downie, of the Canadian band 'Tragically Hip', passed away last night at 53 y.o. I was/am a fan of their music, and was aware of them many years ago, although they had been primarily a Canadian act. he passed away from an aggressive form of brain cancer, and spent his last years bringing...

    Sinners Prayer in the Bible?

For the most part, we are. I wasn't sure about the "exclusion of contrition" part of your quote (but that was a few pages back now). It appears that some make it a requirement, and some may not.

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 4

Being woken up because it seems this place is never without an errant sight, smell, sound, whatever. It's 1:30 in the morning. Who could be cooking? It's noxious! Edit - now the lady down the hall is up for a smoke and stumbling around because she can't see in the dark...

    What is worship?

To accept this is to ignore what is commanded. It is rather plain. Are we new creatures in Christ or are we not? If so, then: If not, then we call Paul a liar as he has commanded the impossible of us.

    Sinners Prayer in the Bible?

Afaik, contrition is not excluded (in fact, it is a requirement in those churches), but conversion and the salvic act are dependent on the prayer, thus showing the person's intent. If I'm wrong on this (I could be), then I'd be interested to hear why.
