And I too must apologize, because I meant to address his theory concerning justification but wrote it as though you were the proponent of that heresy. I'll change it.
Maybe some readers won't get the meaning of the comment you're laughing at.
If millions of believers--representing almost every denomination--see it the other way...then it's not a case of them having twisted anything.
But the same can't be said of any individual who comes up with his own...
Exactly so.
And "thank you' for clearing that up. By the way, I read a number of different articles that reported on this event and were critical of Trump, but the one we were asked to react to was alone (as I recall) in trying to pin that particular interpretation on Trump's wording.
I...
By "this guy" do you mean Trump.? If so, the answer is clearly a "no." However, you read the article and saw what the writer(s) there wanted you to believe.
Of course. Whites are the ones most often arrested.
You've raised a valid point. Trump was undeniably referring to looters, not to the...
That's true, but in addition it's a belief that almost no Christian church shares with Brightfame.
Considering the number of Bible quotations we've seen posted on this thread, you'd think that there'd be a noticeable number of Bible-believing Christians somewhere or other who read those verses...
Well, the Original Post in this thread presented us with news written with a remarkably anti-Trump slant, so that gets us asked to comment on an inaccurate report as if it were factual. Its claims don't even make sense, if you read the article carefully.
Anyway, Trump did not actually say what...
Could it be that this is a common POV among people in his situation but that it's not warranted?
I know people who go through life convinced that the world "has it in for them" because they are members of SOME minority group or other, even if it's not a racial grouping. Every setback in life...
My guess is that it would hurt Biden more, and that's because he IS a Democrat and has that Kennedy name. If some Dems (not necessarily anywhere near a majority of them, note) think Biden is an embarrassment, ran the country poorly, and cannot survive four more years, who else will they have to...
...which reminds me that although the meaning of "discrimination" against transgendered people and their "rights" need definition, the meaning of "transgendered" itself seems to be uncertain at the present time.
Senator Cruz also doubts that Michelle Obama would take the nomination, even at a late date that would relieve her of a long and arduous campaign.
So, the strategy may make sense, but the execution of the thing at the convention...well, that's not so likely. And it would really look anything...
I did hitchhike, and it often was on major highways. I never had a bad experience, but now when I think back on those days, I shudder.
Fortunately, the days of routine hitchhiking are thing of the past for almost everyone. Just think of how seldom any of us these days sees a person on the side...
The real culprits in this development you are referring to are the open primaries. When the parties chose their nominees in a convention with party "regulars" acting as delegates, the folks who really knew politics made the decision.
But a few decades ago, a movement towards "democratic"...
"Are cities doing enough to stop them?"
That depends on which cities we have in mind, doesn't it? The voters in some cities chose to elect officials who won't prosecute and/or take preventive measures, and those are the cities that you were thinking of. Meanwhile, the voters of other cities...
Sure. How could technology and social media not have made an impact?
And how, you ask? Well, for one thing, they probably are responsible for having made the issue bigger and more likely to be misrepresented and misused than otherwise would have been the case.
Just about any wording they use is okay with me and I try to receive it graciously. That's partially because so many people these days would rather choke than offer any apology.
