What do we tell unsaved about biblical election?

and be saved as a result. You may have read the previous posts too hastily, if that is your conclusion.

What do we tell unsaved about biblical election?

That's what a Universalist would say in rebuttal...and some (Eastern) Orthodox Christians as well. But as I read your posts, it seems that you may want it both ways--Jesus saved everyone, not just made it possible for all to be saved; YET at the same time we have free will and so can choose to...

What do we tell unsaved about biblical election?

That's kind of a non-sequitur, isn't it? Man being free to choose doesn't either prove or disprove the idea of predestination. That's the language that's used, but it refers to the extent of his work. The "world" there obviously does not mean that every last individual person who is born will...

    Suicide is a sin

All right, but that wouldn't really be a suicide; it would be an attempted suicide. The question (I thought) had actual suicides in mind. That is true. At least, it's the Protestant view of things. For Catholics and anyone else who believes that it is necessary to die in a "state of grace" in...

What do we tell unsaved about biblical election?

That could show that their belief or faith wasn't real. After all, we know that many people get fired up about some cause or other but then give it up when it's not so much fun, another one comes along, or something else in that vein. It's like the Biblical story about the good seed falling upon...

    Suicide is a sin

When would you be repenting of your sin if you are dead from suicide and no longer in this life?

    A groundbreaking verdict

Generally speaking, we seem to be in accord on this matter. I would only comment that poor judgment on the part of the parent--but not a decision that's completely unthinkable--wouldn't seem to justify prosecuting that parent in the way that it was done in this case. And that's not to say that...

    Texas vs. Fed. Govt.

In theory, yes, but of course doing that is guaranteed to accomplish nothing. And what would that "pressure" be? Warning him that those cities, the ones that always vote Democrat under all circumstances, will suddenly decide not to vote for Biden if he keeps up doing what he's done so far?

    A groundbreaking verdict

The parents declined to send their kid to some sort of psychological counseling (which any alert person should be wary of doing) and may have thought that buying him a gun and taking him to one of those ranges for target practice would satisfy the (not entirely unusual) interest in target...

    Presidential Immunity

On the other hand, we are seeing for the first time in our history a wholesale effort to bring charges against a President or former President (and a slew of other people as well) as a political device. Apparently, the framers of the Constitution were wary of such doings and instead provided...

If you had the choice, would you prefer a Christian hospital?

The ones I am familiar with started out, many decades ago, as the projects of Catholic or Methodist churches or religious orders, but today there's hardly any trace of that fact other than for a hint in the official name of the institution and the logo. As a result, I am inclined to answer the...

Do you care about the Superbowl?

That's true enough, except that I am interested in other sports activities and news. But during the several weeks leading up to the Super Bowl, the kind of meaningless fluff I referred to is front and center.

Do you care about the Superbowl?

I don't care about it at all, with one exception. I am bored to tears by the experts' limitless speculations, by the "puppy bowl," how crazy each team's fans are, what an end zone ticket costs, which celeb is going to be in the stands, etc. and all the other sideshows that fascinate the media...

Do all religions ultimately point to the same God?

I'm not sure I like your statistics there. You've included something over two billion people who actually do not have a belief in a God at all. Maybe it's a list of the world's religions, using the word very loosely, but not of people who follow different versions of God. On the other hand...

Do all religions ultimately point to the same God?

No. I don't see how beings who are believed to have completely different natures, identities, histories, and so on can be considered to be the same.

Have cell phones made polling obsolete?

Hard to say. The numerous polls seem generally to agree with each other, and you'd think that the sketchy way people can screen their calls, etc. would cause the results to vary significantly from polling firm to polling firm.

    Just walk away

...Which is the best thing to do. It doesn't particularly upset anybody because there could be a number of reasons for a patron to turn back quickly, it doesn't cause the management to go out of its way for your benefit, and you don't have to explain anything.

    If something happens to Trump???

    Seems probable.
  19. Albion

    If something happens to Trump???

That would be unlikely. As I get it, you're speculating on the effect of him dying during the primary season, but in that case the MAGA voters would most probably choose among the remaining candidates (in states which will have a primary this spring). In many cases, those names are already on...

    If something happens to Trump???

That's no doubt true, but they still think that they might jail him before the November election and this would likely be as effective as letting him simply become "yesterday's news" or the senior statesman of the party, etc. in the way you indicated.
