    For clarification purposes...who do you consider to be the Reformed? There is a Reformed Christian church that is a small group and as a Lutheran I do not identify with them.

    In a wide sense aren't we all His children since He created us? In a narrow sense the verses you point out declare that believers are His children and those who do not believe are naturally His enemies and their father is the devil.

Telling the boy that his father did something good by having the children baptized is nice but what's better is preaching that Jesus died for forgiveness of sin!
