    You're saying that Christians either believe one side or the other but Lutherans believe both...bread and wine and body and blood. Jesus held up the bread and He said, "This is my body."

    If you also notice, when the disciples DON'T understand Jesus' symbolism they have to ask Him about it. It was pretty obvious that Jesus was giving them more than merely bread and wine. There was too much importance impressed upon it for it to be only symbolic...too many dangers listed in scripture.

    In the original languages such as in Luke 18:15-17 we see that Jesus uses babies as examples of sincere faith. The Greek word for babies is “brephos” which means infant.

    Jesus celebrated the festival of dedication which was a forerunner of the Hanukkah that the Jews celebrate today. Is it the same? I'm not sure.

    The OP's title and the OP's question in his post are two different things. Did you read his OP? Jesus said that these little ones can believe in Him. The OP disagrees that infants can have faith.

    Jesus did not say symbolize though, did he? It wouldn't have been so important with warnings attached if the disciples didn't think that the Lord's body and blood were truly present in the bread and wine.

No blondes were baptized and yet you probably baptize them too? Entire households WERE baptized. It's modern thinking to reject that children weren't...

    There are denominations that believe in works but still say that Jesus is their Savior. They obviously have faith given to them by God so we can't say they aren't Christian...it's just that they have added to the gospel into something the bible says is false.

    I agree with those saying false doctrine but I would go so far as to insist that if the church says that salvation isn't by grace through faith that you RUN as fast as you can.

    Lutherans will go by what Jesus says and not try to explain it further...Jesus said This IS my body, this IS my blood. That means that in, with and under the bread and wine ARE His body and blood. That's Real Presence. Not symbolic. Not just spiritual.

    Well, Catholics are considered to be Christians because they say that Jesus is their Savior. Yes, they have their faults like all denominations do but they don't reject our Triune God.

    My daughter wants to move to the city. Being a protective mom I don't want her to do that and so I'm looking at the crime maps to get a feel for the neighborhoods. None are good enough for me to give my approval :dunno:
