Why are 3 and 4 Esdras in the 1611 King James Bible?

That doesn’t answer my question as to how it got there in the first place. Got any more useless facts?

Why are 3 and 4 Esdras in the 1611 King James Bible?

Even the Catholic Church doesn’t accept them as scripture. How did they end up in the King James apocrypha?

Does Daniel 11 prophesy about events fulfilled in Maccabees?

I was raised in a Protestant church, and I was in fact discouraged from reading those books. I’ve been continually discouraged from reading them from virtually everyone at my church, and I’ve seen plenty of videos of pastors discouraging people from reading them. Sorry, but you can’t lie to me...

Do ancient civilizations pre-date Noah’s flood?

Most ancient cultures date back to at least 3000 BC. (Egyptian, Chinese, Babylonian, etc.) But the flood was 2350 BC. So why don’t these ancient civilizations ever record being wiped out by a worldwide flood?

Does Daniel 11 prophesy about events fulfilled in Maccabees?

If so, then why are we being discouraged from reading Maccabees?

Why did Jesus cleanse the temple?

    I was being serious.

Why did Jesus cleanse the temple?

    Were they practicing usury?

Did Jesus celebrate a holiday that comes from the apocrypha?

But whenever people say that the apocrypha doesn’t belong is because they say the New Testament never quotes from any of those books, in order to give them validity. But that’s not true. If Purim was mentioned in the New Testament, then that would give Esther validity. The holiday in Maccabees...

Did Jesus celebrate a holiday that comes from the apocrypha?

The Feast of Dedication is Hanukkah, which is recorded in Maccabees. Just as Purim is the Feast celebrated in Esther. So how can you say Jesus didn’t celebrate a holiday that comes from the history of the Maccabees? Just like Passover comes from the events in Exodus.

Why did Jesus cleanse the temple?

So, basically none of you know.

Did Jesus celebrate a holiday that comes from the apocrypha?

3 and 4 Esdras are not accepted by Catholics. Enoch is not accepted by Catholics. Third and fourth Maccabees or not excepted by Catholics. I’m open to these books belonging, just as the Ethiopian church accepts them.

Did Jesus celebrate a holiday that comes from the apocrypha?

Oh. Ok. So Anabaptists are Catholic now. Oh, and they’re just a splinter group. Right. The largest church in my city has Anabaptist and Mennonite roots. Oh, but they’re just a small, insignificant splinter group. Right.

Did Jesus celebrate a holiday that comes from the apocrypha?

What is this? Math class? If Greek Orthodox, Ethiopian Orthodox, Anabaptists, and Amish all accept Maccabees, then yes, it’s illogical to assume that just because someone accepts Maccabees then they must be Catholic. Yes, that’s illogical. Look up David Bercot.

I just did. See my comment above. You want me to type all that again?

Did Jesus celebrate a holiday that comes from the apocrypha?

There’s nobody else who accepts the Book of Mormon, except Mormons. Bad example! Lots and lots of Non-Catholics accept Maccabees. You’re comparing apples and oranges.

Did Jesus celebrate a holiday that comes from the apocrypha?

What makes you think I adhere to the Catholic version? 1 and 2 Maccabees were not authored by Catholics. The Catholic Church didn’t exist when they were authored by the Jews and added to the Greek Septuagint, which were the Jewish scriptures for Greek speaking Jews years before Christ. AIN’T...

Did Jesus celebrate a holiday that comes from the apocrypha?

I lean more towards the Ethiopian Orthodox canon than anything. Jude quoted Enoch. But I lean towards the Eastern Greek Orthodox more than the Catholic one. So yes, you’re right about that. Catholics took books out of the Bible. Even the King James apocrypha contains books which that the...

Did Jesus celebrate a holiday that comes from the apocrypha?

Christian is good enough for me. Some say, “I follow Paul.” Others say, “I follow Apollos.” Others say, “I follow Martin Luther.” Others say, “I follow Menno Simons.” Others say, “I follow John Calvin.” Is Christ divided? I was raised in a Pentecostal Assemblies of God church. But to say I’m...

I don’t know what you’re talking about. I never chose any logos or icons.
