Did Jesus celebrate the Holiday that commemorates the Maccabees?

Yes he did. John 10 says that he did.

Did Jesus celebrate the Holiday that commemorates the Maccabees?

Picture taken from John 10:22 in the original 1611 King James. The Feast of Dedication is the Feast of Hanukkah, as shown in this marginal note. Jesus celebrated the Maccabees? But they told me that the New Testament never acknowledges the Apocrypha. ???????

Did you still want the link to that Bible took a picture of? It’s the 400-year anniversary version of the original 1611 King James. That’s where I took the picture from. Here’s the link: Holy Bible, 1611 King James Version: 400th Anniversary Edition Holy Bible, 1611 King James Version: 400th...

Who entertained angels unaware, as stated in Hebrews 13:2?

Martin Luther actually wanted to keep the book of 1st Maccabees. He even referred to it as Holy Scripture. Luther said that you can’t understand Daniel 11 without 1 Maccabees. He just wanted to get rid of 2 Maccabees. But the early church declared both to be canonical scripture.

Who entertained angels unaware, as stated in Hebrews 13:2?

He was fully aware, but had doubts. He knew it was supposed to be an angel, but wasn’t sure. That doesn’t fit with “entertaining angels unaware” as stated in Hebrews 13:2. Tobit is the only thing that matches up.

Who entertained angels unaware, as stated in Hebrews 13:2?

That means that Gideon knew that he was supposed to be an angel, but he had doubts. Since he wasn’t sure, he asked for the sign and it was proven to him. This is not entertaining an angel unaware. He was fully aware but just had doubts.

Who entertained angels unaware, as stated in Hebrews 13:2?

Hebrews says people have entertained angels unaware. How could they possibly be unaware if the angel didn’t conceal his identity? [Staff edit]

He wasn’t entertaining an angel unaware. It doesn’t fit.

Who entertained angels unaware, as stated in Hebrews 13:2?

Gideon knew it was an angel the whole time. He just had some doubts, and so asked for a sign. When the angel performed the sign, then he knew for sure it was an angel. Besides, he didn’t entertain him either. Nice try, but no cigar.

Real Godly Wives Submit To Their Husbands

I think that if a wife submits to her husband, then it shows that she trusts that God will correct, discipline, or judge her husband for his poor decisions, instead of taking matters into her own hands. Do you take justice into your own hands? Or do you submit to the police and rulers, and...

Who entertained angels unaware, as stated in Hebrews 13:2?

The fact that the author of Hebrews didn’t say is even further evidence. It proves that the author of Hebrews, while addressing his Hebrew-speaking Jewish audience, assumed that his language was clear and obvious enough for them to have known what he was referencing when he said that some have...
