    Same person. Just like Joakim and Jehoiakim. They’re the same person. Joiarib and Jehoiarib are the same person. Besides, Mattathias specifically says that he’s a descendant of Phinehas. He’s the grandson of Aaron. So Jehoiarib isn’t the issue. You’re obsessing over a non-issue.

    So what about the Hasmoneans? The Hasmoneans were their descendants. Judas Maccabee and his brothers never wore a crown and claimed to be king. Their descendants did later on. What’s your point? What did Judas or Simon do that’s treason? They never claimed to be king.

    How are they treasonous? Explain yourself. Yes, Maccabees specifically says they’re Levite priests and descendants of Aaron. What’s treasonous? It doesn’t say Simon Maccabees was their king. He was just their leader, just as Moses was a leader. What’s treason?
