    Crazy Christian Theology

You missed the point entirely, even as you quoted it repeatedly. Try again, read it slowly if it helps. If people reject your theories it may mean one of two things: 1. They don't want their worldview shaken 2. Your theories lack merit. Notice that there are two options there, one of which...

    Crazy Christian Theology

... and still you refuse to actually read what I wrote. Try reading what other people write before assuming what they are saying. It really helps a lot.

    Crazy Christian Theology

For someone not after a following you seem remarkably concerned that people don't accept your assertions.

    Crazy Christian Theology

I guess you didn't actually read my post. Try reading the post again and actually addressing it. Or maybe your conclusions are wrong. It could be your conclusions are right and people don't want their worldviews shaken, it could be that your conclusions are wrong. If all you have to go on is...

    Crazy Christian Theology

A recurring theme in your posts here is that the responses you are seeing might mean you're onto something and people don't want their worldview shaken, but might also mean that your theories lack merit and people don't want to spend their time on them. To insist that people not jumping on what...

Does your church cancel any services/events during the Holidays?

I've known services to be cancelled when weather is particularly bad. I think the idea is to avoid a situation where people who live a distance away feel they need to attend - even when services were cancelled there were enough people living locally enough that the service could have gone ahead.

If someone is paying for dinner:

Re-reading this thread reminded me of a story I read some years ago. Allegedly a true story, about a guy who was buying ice cream in the summertime, and was rooting through his pockets trying to find the coupon that gave him 25c off his ice cream. Eventually the person in line behind him just...

    Handicapped bathrooms at church?

When you said one bathroom was easier to access than the other I figured it was a larger stall. There are some impressive wheelchairs out there. I used to regularly visit a park where an elite wheelchair athlete trained. Seeing him move around was impressive.

    Handicapped bathrooms at church?

That's odd. I can't really comment on how accessible the stall actually is, not being a wheelchair user myself, but it looks like it should be accessible. Although it was a very elderly congregation virtually everyone was more or less mobile, although a few used walking aids.

    Spritz Cookies

I like cherries. I should dig out a recipe for cherry cakes or cherry cookies or something, ready for next year when the cherries are in season.

Here's why the "free will" argument cannot be justified if God is all good

Gotta love people who misquote and misrepresent. My post talked of believing without fully understanding. You conveniently missed out the fully, leading to a misrepresentation of my point and a worthless reply.

    Handicapped bathrooms at church?

It can be tricky. I heard something of a conversation at my last church about upgrading the bathrooms - the men's room has a wide stall (I assume the women's does too) but apparently it doesn't meet current requirements. To make it wider would mean either losing the other stall completely, or...

Yes, I remember that now you mention it.

    Lämmchen's Workout Thread

I went for speed repeats yesterday. I started out wishing I had an extra layer and finished up wishing I had chosen a cooler layer. I have a few cycling jerseys that keep me warm, and keep the wind off my front. Obviously running is slower so a tail wind can be sapping but if the wind is that...

USA Mysterious drones in multiple US states

Don't know who is behind them, although it does remind me of some inventive ways drones have been removed from service. I read one article about a family who got tired of their neighbor bothering them with a drone while they were enjoying their (private, fenced) pool. In the end they managed to...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 8

Wishing it was warmer, running in this kind of cold isn't a lot of fun. Wishing there was a gym closer to home - a previous winter we looked for gyms but most of them are either further than we'd want to drive for it, or require a long term commitment, or impose a joining fee. I don't really...

    Spritz Cookies

Never heard them called that before. It sounds like something my mother used to make when I was a kid, although that was a few years ago now so I don't remember much beyond enjoying eating them.

    Spritz Cookies

I don't even know what Spritz cookies are. My wife made a load of cookies today with her aunt, and I got the job of quality testing them. It's a dirty job but someone has to do it....

    Bad decisions your congregation made?

My last church is doing much the same. Lots of grand ideas for fixing the physical building, few if any ideas for fixing the declining attendance. Still, at least they'll have a thriving building even if they have a dying congregation.
