Rev. Dr. Billy Graham, Dead at 99

Truly a great man. I recall always watching his "crusades" on TV with my family growing up. A very powerful preacher and man of God. A biblical Saint in every way.

    Trump assaults food stamps

What I meant was that plan is misguided, but not the intent. So the idea of a supplemental plan along with a stipend may not be a bad idea.

    Trump assaults food stamps

Some of the problem (and Mr. Trump's idea is totally off base) is that, while there are those that are responsible with what they use, there are a visible majority who aren't. Michigan, for example (my home state before my move) decided income levels based on "disposable income" - cash on hand...

The Catechism of the Catholic Church on Baptism

You were addressing the custom of sponsors and godparents in your first post as the requirement. Did you mean to say a "profession of faith" and said the wrong thing? I was a bit confused, too. Imo, a profession of faith as a requirement is in keeping with what we find in scripture. "Just my...

What does Peter mean by "the fate that was planned for them"

Actually, I think Strav summed it up nicely. Peter, suggesting that those who don't obey God's word (such as you - Menno - suggested in another thread may apply to Strav), will "meet the fate that was planned (predestined?) for them" (e.g. "Heretic Toast"). Does that sum up Peter's view? Or do...

Credobaptists - What about those with disabilities and baptism?

The piece you've quoted clearly shows the 'founders' of the "Particular Baptist" movement to have conferred with the Anabaptists on the immersion issue. Also John Smythe was baptized again by the Anabaptists, having concluded that his self-baptism was not valid.

Credobaptists - What about those with disabilities and baptism?

I appreciate the "some" here. I recall on one occasion attending the church my parents still attend (PCUSA), where one Sunday the Pastor was baptizing his grandson. During the sermon he made reference to the importance of the act, and referred to his grandson as "the cutest little sinner (he'd)...

    Homily on baptism.

Water itself isn't the active 'agent' here, so what was said is correct. The Holy Spirit is the active agent that does the regenerating, washing, and sustaining.

Credobaptists - What about those with disabilities and baptism?

Sorry. Had a Glossolalia moment evidently (thought it was English, though). Maybe read it again. There are also helpful websites on debate style.
