    Great responses, and I agree that "plain" meaning can bring us to deeper spiritual truths as we grow and study. Our understanding will grow and we will be enlightened by passages that, maybe, seemed "beyond" us at a certain time. Primarily, if I'm ever stuck on a passage, I can get clarification...

    From what I've looked up there is some debate as to whether "heavens" in the Hebrew referred to all of creation, or merely the heavenly bodies. It could have both - it's broad enough to have included angels, but not definitive.

    Interesting question. Most of what I've been finding has been speculative ("verse 'X' may have meant this, or that, but it may have been about Angels or the heavens, but we don't know") kind of thing
