Faith without good works is dead.

It's been returned to me personally. And I think we'd be hard pressed to find any member here (whether Catholic or Protestant) who would say different. Yes, we differ in the validity of the sacraments (hence, why we wouldn't/shouldn't commune together), but not in our position in Christ.

Faith without good works is dead.

Can we please get past the "what the RCC has condemned" rhetoric? I think the point has been made. It's tiresome. As an aside, this weekend was our "end of summer barbecue" at church. The E.O. mission next door joined us. I don't recall our historical differences and anathemas being part of the...

    Kavanaugh has an accuser

Not good in an election year

    Kavanaugh has an accuser

I think this would be for the Judiciary committee to find out at this point (could be wrong, though). Judge Kavanaugh has said he would answer any questions pertaining to this, as has the professor involved.

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 6

Contemplating what else to have for dinner. I bought some frozen pork thingies that are quite disgusting.

Faith without good works is dead.

This is something that's being debated here, though. As far as I can reason (and I think I can reason alright...) some might say that one who has faith apart from the exhibited works is, in fact, alive in Christ. Do you dispute that?

The CH Challenge (Team 1 wins)

Still time for Team Two... #nail-biter :O

The CH Challenge (Team 1 wins)

Lämmchen - do you have down-to-the-wire numbers for us? :)

The CH Challenge (Team 1 wins)

I'd like to make a suggestion that those who are able (and you don't have to post publicly whether you are or not) make the same $20 donation to the chosen charity

Faith without good works is dead.

Josiah, what I find interesting is that you will affirm essentially the "spirit" of the OP in saying "Correct" if the spirit of the OP is stated by someone else. A dead faith saves no-one. Correct Then spend the rest of the post doubling back on yourself. I have no problem or issue seeing the...

    Kavanaugh has an accuser

Sen. Feinstein is very good at upsetting apple-carts. This is one instance. In the same way Pres. Trump is a blowhard Republican, Sen. Feinstein (in her own way, such as this) is the same for the Dems. It's a very typical move for her. This professor first wanted to remain anonymous, but at the...

What are you eating? - Part 2

Sounds very good. Split-pea with ham is a fall favorite, too. Hmmmm :)

What are you eating? - Part 2

Starbucks "Nitro Cold Brew" - like coffee on tap. Nitrogen infused. Very good, and not harsh - very mellow taste.

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 6

Glad you made it for part of service, but... Port and Sprite?? :dead1:

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 6

Having a coffee after experiencing total shock at the price tag of a new suit. :o My nephew's wedding is next month and it's required. Now I know why I don't wear suits. It does look pretty snazzy, though :)

Josiah - how would you engage the scripture presented in the OP, given what you've said in your reply?

    Kavanaugh has an accuser

Of course it should be investigated now that something has come to light, but it's a Democrat cheap-shot. Sen. Feinstein has had this since July. And now this person feels a "civic responsibility"? We'll see what comes of it

What are you eating? - Part 2

We had a hot dog lunch at church along with the Orthodox mission that share our building. Great to have had a chance to meet some of them

Is your creed catholic, Catholic, or Christian?

Hey, hey now. PC only, please. "People" is the correct inclusive term. So saith the NIV ("saith"="says" for those not familiar with Olde English :D ) so say we all.
