Did the Catholic Church change the sabbath day from Saturday to Sunday?

While browsing in youtube for a clip on worship music I came across this interesting bit of information. There are several youtube videos that claim a Catholic bishop says that the Catholic Church changed the sabbath - most of these videos are from Seventh Day Adventist sources and a few are...

    two Sabbaths that week..

I see. So no metaphor in what he says about Jonah and the three days and nights it's all exact and precise and must come to pass exactly as written. But then why is baptism not also exactly as described in Acts 22:16 (having your sins washed away exactly and precisely as it is said) and why is...

Is any error cpable of separating one from God?

Oh, so these un-regenerates are church people. Not just your average Joe on the street who happens to be un-regenerate? These guys need to be church people who attend regularly, speak in tongues, and clap hands and dance while the obligatory choruses are sung? A special class of heathen who...

    two Sabbaths that week..

Why does that matter? What's the problem with a day time entombment and a early morning resurrection?

    two Sabbaths that week..

I do not think it matters unless you're expecting precisely 72 hours in the grave. And in that case a Wednesday at 3 Pm death and burial before sunset Wednesday with a resurrection on Sunday some time between sunset and sunrise will not give you precisely 72 hours.

    Infant Baptism

You have nothing biblical to say on the subject of infant baptism because your doctrine is a heresy. So you make comments that mislead. Nevertheless Acts 22:16 tells the faithful that their infant child's sins are washed away in baptism and John 3:5 tell them that in baptism their infant child...

Seems like a very convenient way of changing what he taught.

    Why was Mary necessary?

The Mary of the bible (blessed Mary) is the mother of God. Holy scripture says so when it says that Jesus is God (John 1:1, 14, 18) and that Mary is his mother (Acts 1:14).

    Infant Baptism

I reckon it's a kind of troll. Pretend that the holy scriptures do not say what they clearly do say and then pretend that some cockamamie doctrine plucked out of nothing is "biblical". Obviously baptism is about being washed clean from sins, buried with Christ and rising with him, and being born...

Is any error cpable of separating one from God?

Un-regenerate people (that'd be people who are not and never have been Christians) were once brought into the light, and tasted the gift from heaven, and received a share of the Holy Spirit, and tasted the goodness of God's message and the powers of the world to come?

Did the Catholic Church change the sabbath day from Saturday to Sunday?

That is right, I am not observing the Sabbath laws of the old covenant. The idea that I ought to as some sort of religious duty is contrary to the teaching of the new covenant.

    Infant Baptism

Where do the holy scriptures ever teach about "essential belief"?

    Infant Baptism

Jesus said that "I assure you that whoever does not receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it." (Mark 10:15). Evidently the Lord has confidence in infants and their ability to enter the kingdom of God as well as serve as a model for the faithful.

Is any error cpable of separating one from God?

What do you make of this passage? Let us leave behind us then all the elementary teaching about Christ and go on to its completion, without going over the fundamental doctrines again: the turning away from dead actions, faith in God, the teaching about baptisms and the laying -- on of hands...

How do you account for saint Peter's words? I quoted them in the first post.

    Why was Mary necessary?

Indeed she is. Mary is the mother of God the Son and since God the Son is God blessed Mary is the mother of God. Yet you find it so hard to say. You'd rather deny it than admit the evident truth of it so you add the peculiar heretical view of the Holy Trinity and the incarnation of the Word that...

    Why was Mary necessary?

In one breath you call him God the Son and in the next he is merely the Son. Is it really so hard for you to speak the words Mary is the mother of God the Son? And is it so hard to understand that God the Son is God?

Is any error cpable of separating one from God?

Saint Peter says: As there were false prophets in the past history of our people, so you too will have your false teachers, who will insinuate their own disruptive views and, by disowning the Lord who bought them freedom, will bring upon themselves speedy destruction. Many will copy their...

    Why was Mary necessary?

I think that is what you're doing. The passages say that the Word is God and that the Word became flesh and that the only Son (Jesus Christ) is God and that Mary is the mother of Jesus. You somehow twist that into something about Mary being the mother Jesus' flesh but not the mother of of Jesus...
