    Sometimes Have This Problem

I'm thinking that you're a lot stronger than you know, Ruth. I'll pray for you as well tonight, that God would lighten your burdens. I'm glad you got the rest you needed. Prayers on the ascent!

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 5

I was introduced to that little tri- monthly booklet when I first started taking instruction at Hope Lutheran Church in Jacksonville, FL. As soon as I transferred my membership back up here to Manassas, VA, I asked about POP and I saw that they were kept in a very inconspicuous niche on a little...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 5

My body's beginning its nightly shut- down, so I suppose I'll write in my daily journal, read a couple of chapters of John Ferling's Apostles of Revolution and then say Martin Luther's Evening Prayer, read today's portion of Portals of Prayer, read the 3rd Week Monday Evening prayer from the...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 5

Okay, now that I've eaten lunch, had my nap and just finished dinner, I can continue to contemplate those heroes who lost their lives for the sake of my country's freedom.

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 5

Ah, well, I can multi- think. I'm not contemplating the process of abortion whilst I'm reading about a very bad decision ( in my American opinion) made by some of the citizens of another country in the name of civil rights. Actually, now that you've brought that up, I'm not quite so hungry..

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 5

Reading a bit about Ireland's recent abortion vote https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/27/world/europe/ireland-abortion-refendum.html and contemplating lunch. It's been a rather momentous weekend.

Sweating bullets through my shirt since mowing the lawn and showering afterwards. It's another sweltering day in the northeastern corner of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 5

I'm fixing to walk the dog, now that the shadows are lengthening, I reckon it's the best time of day to go out for a stroll. I just got back from eating home made custard from Messick's. A nice drive out in the country. The fields are now all green and the horses and cattle have gotten fairly...

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 5

At one point I'd have said " BBC- America," but they've got their own spin, just like CNN or Fox News. It's getting to the point where news isn't news as much as it's entertainment. Another institution to confirm people in the prejudices that they already have.

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 5

Now, I'm seeing national attention swivel back from the Royal Wedding to President Trump trying to cast doubt on the people tasked to investigate him and possible collusion with Russia. Very entertaining, but it's getting a little old.

So... What are YOU doing? - Part 5

I'm just reading up on my results with Living DNA and my LM Genetics K36 Ancestry Report. Last night, I finished up reading " White Trash." by Nancy Isenberg. The depressing idea that the American colonies were partially founded as a dumping place for the British poor and that Washington...

Do you have assurance that you will have everlasting life with God?

Yes, I am convinced that the mercy of God is greater even than the heavy weight of my sins, which Jesus bore when He went to the Cross. From the Bible and from the Lutheran Confessions, here are some verses to back them up: Mark 16:16, John 6:37, John 10:28, Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11, 1 Peter...

What does the Bible say about the Christian attitude?

My attitude as a Christian is nowhere near where it should be. That's why I thank God that my salvation is contingent on Jesus Christ alone and not on any vile works of my own. Of course we should respond with love when our adversaries attack us, but human nature is to erect a defensive barrier...
