    Do you wear a cross?

I wear a cross mainly for personal reasons. In fact I typically wear it under my shirt because I have a very physical job and don't want it swinging around.

    RISEN

I agree where I like the fact it starts from the perspective of a pagan because unbelievers might identify with that but if the story line leaves it there then I don't want to support it.

Evangelical Only Ash wednesday -Odins day .. Interesting information regarding the practice

I've made it clear for the LORD setting the precedent for making the forehead whether they choose to do it on Ash Wednesday or any other day. You can't show biblically otherwise.

Evangelical Only Ash wednesday -Odins day .. Interesting information regarding the practice

That verse has nothing to do with marking your forehead with a mark (tav) as the LORD set as a precedence.

Evangelical Only Ash wednesday -Odins day .. Interesting information regarding the practice

Wow the subject is about anointing the forehead with ashes not fasting.

Evangelical Only Ash wednesday -Odins day .. Interesting information regarding the practice

Again it is very simple, there is nothing wrong with putting ashes on anyone's forehead as a sign of lamentation and/or repentance whether it's on a Wednesday or anything other day of the week. In fact I showed scripture as a precedence. (Ezekeil 9:4) I'm not saying that specifically 'Ash...

Evangelical Only Ash wednesday -Odins day .. Interesting information regarding the practice

I agree you can't show even the disciples taking communion again but that would only prove again that the end result of your system of biblical interpretation is flawed and in your own words sexist.

Evangelical Only Ash wednesday -Odins day .. Interesting information regarding the practice

Nope has nothing to do with being sexist. You can't show one time a female taking communion in the bible. It just shows your system of biblical interpretation is flawed.

Evangelical Only Ash wednesday -Odins day .. Interesting information regarding the practice

Ok, so Lord Jesus and the Apostles administered the Eucharist to females in scripture? Do you take communion

Evangelical Only Ash wednesday -Odins day .. Interesting information regarding the practice

The practice of using ashes upon a person's forehead as a sign of lamination and repentance was initiated by the LORD. There is absolutely nothing wrong with using that practice to start off Lent with our own spirit of repentance. You won't find a single verse in scripture referring to a female...

Evangelical Only Ash wednesday -Odins day .. Interesting information regarding the practice

Its obvious that having ashes marked on ones forehead as a sign of lamenting and repentance is biblical "says the LORD."

Ezekeil 9:4 And the LORD said unto him, "pass through the city, through Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads of the men who sign and groan over all the abominations that are committed in it."

    Receiving Ashes

Yep, my wife and I were able to attend. Our church is just under thirty minutes on an evening like that twenty minutes on a Sunday morning. That's about as far as I'll drive for extra services.

The Official Chat Thread - Part 2

I was just a kid last time I went through SF. We lived in L.A and would drive up the coast to see family up in Seattle. I do remember the Golden Gate Bridge though.
