    Okay so let me get this sorted... An icon is: 1) a physical blessing of God 2) a blessing of the Church 3) a parishioner asks for one to be made I still don't see how that is different from what Christian art is.

    The difference is in the Blessing given them. That part confuses me too. Is there a biblical back up that icons are blessed by God moreso than the art of other Christian artists?
