How does it become the Body and the Blood?

I would say that since Christ was physically present at the Last Supper, the one whose Body and Blood would be changed from the Bread and the Wine did not need to change that night. But being that Christ is not physically on the Earth, hence why we say the Gifts are changed. It is a bloodless...

We pray during the Divine Liturgy that the Holy Spirit will descend and transform the Gifts.

    Early Church authority

I’m referencing how many people simply shot down church hierarchy or the veneration of Mary, when it was practiced by the Early Church whom also compiled Scripture.

Is Veneration of the Saints something that is allowed by God?

The Hail Mary is Scriptural. The prayer after the closing part of the prayer is not an Orthodox prayer, but rather a Catholic prayer.

    Early Church authority

Well for example, the veneration of Mary is found within the Early Church. Also, a liturgical setup and church hierarchy set up as well.

    Early Church authority

Well many people always seem to dismiss practices, when the Early Church themselves did those practices.

Is Veneration of the Saints something that is allowed by God?

No but the level of devotion and honor given to it is quite high, so again serious veneration.

Is Veneration of the Saints something that is allowed by God?

Veneration is giving honor and isn’t worship. Otherwise veneration of the US flag is worship.

Why did Christ listen to Mary?

At the wedding in Cana, he replied with a statement many may think is condescending. But he then listened to His Mother, what are your thoughts on that?

    Natures on the Cross

When Christ died, what natures were with Him? Some on here have said that He gave up being God to die.

Communion of the Body of Christ

Then why did Christ have to dwell among us and come to Earth through His Nativity then?

Communion of the Body of Christ

I don’t get why it’s hard to understand real presence. Not being able to believe it almost makes it sound like you deny what Christ can do and where He can be.

    Meaning of vestments

What is the meaning of the use of vestments in your church?
  19. George

Communion of the Body of Christ

The Orthodox practice closed communion and believe it to be the Body and Blood of Christ. The Holy Gifts are consecrated and the Holy Spirit is asked to descend down on them and make them the Body and Blood it Christ. No name given to that process, nor do we try to explain how it happens.

    Terminal illness and comfort

Memory eternal. My God grant you and your family peace, and know that she is in a place where there is no pain, sorrow, or suffering, but life everlasting.
