Phew, got through my busy month of June. Going to come in here and just sit for a bit. Wake me up when you all come in in the morning.

    Little Luther

Little Luther showed up at the LWML convention so I had my daughter-in-law pick one up for me. He is adorable. I sure hope they come up with a Little Katie. These were put to for the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation. One of the inserts in the box us regarding the Reformation.

    Is eating meat ethical?

There are feed lots where there is overcrowding. Those tend to be the stops before slaughter. Out in my area of the country, this isn't so. I don't think eating meat is ethically wrong. Those who want to make it unethical are the kind of people who are not tolerant of other's views on...

USA Who Poses the Biggest Threat to the USA

I voted "other" as we are our own worst enemy these days. Well, our elected and appointed officials are.

    The Lord's Prayer

I don't get it either. It is the perfect prayer. Some of the places that don't pray the Lord's prayer may also be non-credal.

    Terminal illness and ending life

I have been around many people in their dying days. I have watched people go through many changes reflecting back on their lives and looking forward to what is in the next life. Do they want to die and "get it over" or say that they are ready? Yes they do. Yet each one teaches me many things...

    Retirement

We are facing retirement in just a few years and we have not done nearly enough. Trying to do some catching up now. It was very difficult in the early years with young children.

Can we start calling things evil?

At one time, mental illness was attributed to evil spirits. Like MarkFL stated, science has shown that it is because of brain chemistry. Because of the fall of man (in Adam), we have all these issues. People like this guy have listened to whatever lies Satan has been telling him and went...

Can we start calling things evil?

Not sure if the is the place to post this so if not, please move. We see so much in the news about people shooting people and most recently the shooting in Charlotte. One of the first things I see is people wondering if the person was mentally ill. Now, anyone who goes off and kills others...

    Changing race

Well, society seems to think both are okay. But I don't think God would be okay with it. He created us as His child the way He wanted us to be.

USA Is it time for a woman President in the U.S.?

I think the US is ready for a female president. As far as some of the countries we have been having to deal with, I am not sure that they would be ready for us to have a female president. As far as who, I have no suggestions at this time. I don't think there any that would be good for our...

    How many years?

How long have you and your spouse been married. As I said in another thread, we are coming up on 36 years. There have been many ups and downs, but generally an upward trend. We have recently had a pretty low time, but seem to be getting through it.

How often does your spouse REALLY listen to you?

Coming up on our 36th anniversary this fall, I think we have fallen into where neither one of us really listen to each other. When we want the other to really get what we are saying, we have to make sure we have the other's full attention. I think we have our best conversations while road...

    Cat or Dog?

It seems like people with like cats more or dogs more. Which are you? I am a cat lover and we currently have 2 Siamese cats who are sisters from the same litter. They are 2.5 years old. Gracie and Ruthie. They give us both lots of entertainment.

    Different types of Baptist?

Thanks for asking this as I am also interested in learning the differences. I have some Baptist friends and would love to know.

    Asking forgiveness

Sometimes it is very hard to ask for forgiveness and takes time to get to the point of asking. Other times it is easier. I think it can depend on the depth of hurt and pain involved as to how long it takes.

    Journalist photoshopping pics

I agree with MarkFL here. Creating a whole new image and making the photo into something that it was not in the beginning and purporting it to be what really happened is wrong in my opinion. To fine tune the photo of color and lighting is okay as that would make the photo a better image to...
