My answer is that it's more important for me to trust God because God is omniscient, and an omniscient being knows what everyone is going to do, therefore the concept of "trusting someone" doesn't apply to Him. They formed tribes, which were governed by local tribal rules. Rules that the settlers did not abide by. I don't see the relevance of what their polity was called or how complex it was. Hopefully, we can agree that it is immoral to go to any tribe in Africa and attack them to take their land... -
