You, you, you, you, you, you...
Post after post after post...
Sleep well, my Brother...

She had to remain concealed while alive...
She concealed Christ as an adult...
Her son John concealed Her, his Mother, in Her old age...
You DO agree She is John's Mother, yes?
Jesus DID say She is his Mother, yes?
Arsenios
Well, Menno, the deception holds well, doesn't it?
Jesus had brother according to Scripture, yes?
Scripture even names them...
And His sisters were present at this event, yes?
And His Mother was there too, yes?
And His father, Joseph, was named too, yes?
That is how deception works...

When I first started listening to this talk, YOU were the first person who came to mind, besides the Latin Rite Catholic Church, who all have fits with the EOC, and see the "Greeks" as rebellious children in disobedience to the Pope. The beauty of this talk for the RCC is that it comes from a...
This talk is simply wonderful, focusing on the contrasting approaches to Faith between the Roman Catholic and the Eastern Orthodox Churches... He is a Melkite Priest, a former Lutheran, and describes himself as Eastern Orthodox, in Communion with Rome... I have not heard such an illuminating...
The context here clearly seems to be the Temple of God vs that of the Idols...
The historic Church understands this as meaning that we are not to participate in Services outside our own Communion...
Which is why Communion and ex-Communication are such a big deal...

Well, it WAS a thorn in the flesh, and the only other identifier he gave it was that it was a messenger of Satan...
Can anyone truly imagine the Apostle Paul "boasting in" iniquity?
He boasted in his weaknesses - They become lawless when he obeys them...
Not a sin, but weakness that CAN...
That is a perfectly natural read of this passage, for it is temporally charged, beginning with "Those whom He foreknew, these also He Called..."
That is a sequential pair of verbs...
The rest grammatically CAN be sequential, and are interpreted as sequential by the Church...
Because each...
It was an evil thing that he was afflicted with...
He called it a messenger of Satan...
And he wanted nothing to do with it...
And it would not leave him alone...
And he asked God to remove it from him...
And he asked three times, persistently...
An infirmity is a pleasurable...
If you struggle with a sin long enough,
and are genuine in your repentance,
and ask God's help,
and confess it consistently,
God can be Gracious to you
and remove that iniquity from you...
God CAN heal your infirmity...
He does not have to do so...
He CAN leave you with it...
Even if...
He was sure known by all the demons He cast out...
He had to muzzle them to keep them from blowing His camouflage...
Concealing the God-man on earth is no small matter!

Josiah my Friend...
The Greek word KAI does indeed, as you say, mean AND...
However is has another meaning in the passage mentioned...
That meaning is ALSO...
Those whom God foreknew, these ALSO He Called...
And it does indeed entail sequencing...
We are Foreknown..
Then we are Called...
Then...
True repentance is to never commit the same sin again...
Struggling in repentance against a sin is a good thing...
Sins are overcome one at a time...

Acts 2:36-41
"Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that
God has made Him both Lord and Christ,
this Jesus whom you crucified.”
Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart,
and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles,
“Brothers, what shall we do?”
And Peter said...
Photini was an "Equal to the Apostles" person for the Samarians - Evangellizing the Faith to them and beyond... And they had no dealings with the Jews, being Samarians... So it was not a major disclosure... How late in His ministry was that encounter?
The only bio we have of Him as a Child...
