Why we have the bible in English (despite the RCC)

Why would the RCC deem the Ten Commandments heretical? We have them too. We number them differently than most modern Protestants (the Bible doesn't actually number them or make reference to "ten" commandments), but the content is the same. Also, Foxe's book is polemical and partially...

What is infant dedication and what does it mean

I never understood it. It just seemed a way to do the same thing as infant Baptism, but still be able to say "we don't believe in infant Baptism."

    guns in schools

Maybe a principal or a designated teacher. But not all teachers. Kids are mischievous little guys. If they know teacher so-and-so has a gun somewhere, some may try and succeed in finding it. Better to have a resource officer or actual security guards than arming teachers themselves.

Mom has a male fixed cat who occasionally sprays when the stray male cats are hanging around the house. Used to have a fixed FEMALE cat who would spray rarely.

    Cat or Dog?

Do you live in an apartment or somethimg? I rarely take my dogs for walks. The old dog just likes to hang out. The young one runs around in the backyard and chases the cat and old dog. Neither one is overweight, actually the young one is pretty skinny.

Differences between the usages of icons and statues?

I don't believe there is any theological difference between statues and icons in the Catholic tradition. I believe the EO do believe there us a difference. You might ask them about it.

    Speaking in tongues?

I saw nothing out of the ordinary with the video, though I only watched it half way. He didn't seem to "feel" it quite like I've seen, but everyone experiences the Spirit differently I suppose. It's easier to discern whether it is genuine or not if I'm actually there or at least know the person...

    Speaking in tongues?

Oh yes, tongues are real. It's not hard to tell if someone is faking it or having a real experience, ime.

    Prayer and free will

Yeah, I was thinking they might mean Grace.

    Prayer and free will

Born again through water and the Spirit, which refers to Baptism. I went ahead and just looked it up on Wikipedia. It turns out that Regeneration is a specifically Protestant concept, usually held by Evangelicals and Calvinists. So that's why I was unfamiliar with the term.

    Prayer and free will

John 3 is about being Baptized and believing in Jesus.

    Prayer and free will

Regeneration does sound like some kind of Protestant theological thing. Care to explain what it means? We might have a different word for a similar concept. But so far you seem to be using it in a way that means "being saved".

    Flag debate?

American flag should alway be above other flags, or they can fly side by side. But no flag should fly higher than the US flag in the USA.

    Journey from athiesm/agnosticism to faith?

Dark Night of the Soul by st. Catherine of Sienna is a perennial work on spiritual dryness (which ties in very well with what we call agnosticism or soft atheism today).
