Usually my pastor suggests I come in to talk because we email back and forth regarding my questions and problems and I think he finds it easier to talk in person.

So he wasn’t taken to heaven in the chariot? What was the chariot doing in the Scripture then, anyway?

The Scripture that talks about Elijah being taken to heaven in a chariot of fire: Fact? Fiction? Supernatural? Miracle? Symbolic? What?

I enjoy and am inspired by the music at my church. It’s some of the same songs played on our contemporary Christian station. A few songs were hymns done as a pop/rock version and I think our praise band compose some of their own music, too.

I MUCH prefer contemporary Christian music to the old hymns that I sang when I was a kid. They were probably old songs by then, too.

Among the LCMS here, who believes that the stories, and the details of the stories in the OT, are literally true? Like Methuselah living to almost 1000 or Enoch (or was it Elijah?) flying into heaven in a chariot etc? if you do believe it what evidence do you have for their truth? Besides Jesus...

I doubt it’s run by any Protestant denomination. I think she’s very naive and, well, not too bright.

My friend, a staunch Catholic, was telling me about this neat Protestant store that’s similar to a Catholic run store but it’s geared toward non Catholics. I thought that since I’m a fairly new Lutheran and we often still shop at the Catholic store, this would be helpful to my spirituality...
