    A P O C R Y P H A : Included in every Holy Bible from the 4th century AD to the 19th Century AD

The author of Hebrews insinuated that the tortured men is biblical history. I’ve ALWAYS gotten the impression that the writer of Hebrews was saying that it’s in the Bible, even though for the longest time I didn’t know it was talking about Maccabees. It was quite a mystery to me until I read 2...

    A P O C R Y P H A : Included in every Holy Bible from the 4th century AD to the 19th Century AD

You made it sound like all Christians everywhere rejected them as holy scripture in the 4th century. Use your words more wisely, because that’s the impression you gave.

What are you talking about? The 4th century is precisely the time when many church councils authoritatively declared these books to be divine canonical scripture. Only 1 council that I know of in the 4th century rejected them. 3 councils accepted them. You don’t know church history. Granted...

What message do you get out of the story of the prodigal son?

Since there’s evidence that 1 Maccabees was probably written in Hebrew originally…

Then do you think there’s a possibility that it might have been included in the Hebrew Bible at one point in time before being taken out? (I know 2 Maccabees was probably written in Greek originally, but evidence shows 1 Maccabees was probably written in Hebrew before being later translated...

How can the Sadducees not believe in angels or spirits when they’re mentioned all throughout Genesis and Exodus?

“For Sadducees say that there is no resurrection—and no angel or spirit; but the Pharisees confess both.” -Acts 23:8 - Bible Gateway passage: Acts 23:8 - New King James Version

I believe Noah’s flood was 5,000 years ago, not 4,400.

So you have no comment on whether the flood was 4,400 years ago or 5,000 years ago?

I believe Noah’s flood was 5,000 years ago, not 4,400.

I showed the mistake. You just prefer to put blinders on and pretend it doesn’t exist, just like you pretend that the Septuagint doesn’t exist.

I believe Noah’s flood was 5,000 years ago, not 4,400.

You say the KJV is perfect. But when I show that the KJV has one of the mistakes from the Septuagint, you just say, “Well it’s perfect even though I can’t explain the mistake.” And Origen didn’t live in the days of Ptolemy II. Origen has nothing to do with the origin of the Septuagint.

How to keep the family Catholic?

The main focus should be abiding in Christ and Christ’s Words abiding in you. Dedication to Catholicism over dedication to Christ is wrong priorities.
