Yes I agree hearing/reading God’s word is a main factor in staying illuminated. I would add receiving the sacraments, being discipled under an anointed teacher/sermons and praying round off the top four.

The Ten virgins is one of my favorite especially pondering what the oil represents and how they/we acquire it.

I get this/your perspective but would add God used fallible human beings to share His message and that it’s still inspired within that context. What say you?

I was raised in a nominally Catholic household but at 30 yo I personally started searching out Christ and His Church. I’ve been all over the map of denominations and feel most convinced of the authenticity of the Lutheran & Anglican traditions.

In fact that’s why Orthodox Christians not only baptize their infants but also commune them with the Eucharist.
