    What could be your binge?

You people all like really yummy foods! Carrots with butter - or a honey-nutmeg sauce. Mmm. I like creamy things like pudding or mousse - ice cream works, but if I were to binge, I'd get a headache. I could binge on Bavarian Cream (my favorite creamy food), but wouldn't win any contests.

    Cast Iron

Every time I go to thrift shops, I look for cast iron. I love cast iron skillets, but it has to be the heavy old style pans, not the thin pans they have now. I used to like the old style Hibachi as well, but will have to settle for the newer style, with thinner iron.

What Do You Think of Women Who Shave Their Heads?

A few of my clients have shaved their heads, but usually that means they have lice.

Do You Use Paper, Plastic, Cloth or Some Other Kind Of Bag for Groceries?

Tango, haven't you seen pictures of turtles and seals with plastic bags constricting their necks and flippers? Plastic bags are like plastic bottles. They are not truly recycled; they are tied together and tossed into the oceans. The movement of the oceans loosens the ties, and they end up...

    Window shopping one's religion.

Personally, I don't believe in shopping around, but I also think membership is only for political purposes. I don't care if I have a right to vote; I do care that I immerse in service in some capacity. Membership is not necessary for commitment and service - nor is it necessary to salvation...

    Early childhood memories

There were no sippy cups when I was a baby, so we went straight from bottle to glass. They wouldn't give me a bottle anymore, so I used a glass, and I remember wondering what would happen if, rather than removing my mouth from the round edge, there were a mouth-shaped gap to drink from. So I bit...

Air out your pet peeves here :)

Being sent home from work just because you're contagious, even though you feel fairly fine when you take Tylenol Cold. :( I can't afford time off...

Air out your pet peeves here :)

Do you mean post about your pet peeves here - as in here on the forums? Or do you mean post here about [all] pet peeves? If I can post about all pet peeves, the drivers in this town suck!!!! They are not taught to drive; they are taught to pass the driving test. Grrr....

Rev. Dr. Billy Graham, Dead at 99

He definitely fulfilled the great commission, and was a very influential witness ... all the way from me, to presidents, and to many nations. I am sure today he received a crown with many jewels, and was warmly embraced by the Christ for whom he witnessed. I had the pleasure of attending two...

Plants for healing in the bible?

Today, you can buy calamus. It is not the same thing as cannabis. Calamus is a reed. Cannabis is a flowering plant. They are not the same. I do see God using a toxic plant. The oil was intended for anointing. That amount would not be toxic. But I can see also that God does not want the oil to...

Plants for healing in the bible?

Calamus is actually the sweet root plant - it's a reed that grows in wetlands, and originated around India. There are a lot of different names for it, but it is the Acorus Calamus. The oil is toxic in large doses, but small doses can be used therapeutically. In the holy oil of the OT, only the...

    Funeral song?

Hopefully they will start with "My Jesus I Love Thee" and "Morning Has Broken," and end with "Go Rest High on That Mountain." Between the two, maybe they will play some Boot Scootin Boogie and Tennessee Flat Top Box and lighten the mood up a bit. I'm not charismatic, but that's one instance when...

    5 Love Languages

Words of affirmation, acts of service, then quality time. I say that with the disclaimer that when you experience fulfillment in one language and lack in another, the results can be skewed so that the area that is lacking is more important. I also believe that the languages are fluid, meaning...

Tea Drinkers - what kinds do you enjoy?

Dirty socks? lol. I love the bergamot notes in the earl grey. Some earl grey makers don't use enough of the bergamot, then I don't like it so much. As well, I only let it steep for 4-5 min, and do not use boiling water. Also, don't add anything, unless it's about 15 grains of sugar, just to take...

    Families controlling through Religion

Some people would call certain Anabaptist groups "extreme" because they live and work peacefully among themselves and do not interact a whole lot with modern society. Personally, I call some Christian groups rather extreme, such as the prosperity groups or the ones who are so charismatic that...

Tea Drinkers - what kinds do you enjoy?

I'm a tea snob! I admit it. I really don't care for some bagged tea, but I do like the Twinings' Earl Grey. We have a local tea shop that does its own blends. They have one that they created specifically for a local tea house. It is still available, even though the tea house has closed down. I...

Well, Canada's system has worked for us for what? Fifty years? It has sustained us for a long time, and efforts are being made to figure out how to continue sustaining it in the future. Yes, there will be changes. No, it does not work for everyone. But I will say this. It is preferable to the...

This is true for the American system. When it was first talked about, I thought it was going to be similar to the Canadian system, using funds from federal and provincial taxes, and giving oversight to those in the medical profession - iow, doctors make the decisions as to what is medically...

    Oprah 2020

That is very sad. I'm sure we get our fair share of deaths while patients wait for their surgeries, but for a large part, Canada (well, BC at least) provides care based on triage, so those more urgent needs are met more quickly. Of course as you are waiting for surgery, your own needs become...

    Oprah 2020

Given the amount of money she makes versus what she gives away, it makes me wonder if she indeed does have a heart for those who are not rich, or if they are little more than a tax write off for her, or to perhaps paint her as a goddess in the eyes of those who have a little wishful thinking...
