    I use the the NRSV as my regular Bible for reading, because it is used by the church that I attend for its service readings, and it's a relatively good, liberal translation. I use the Authorised Version for study as it works best with Strong's, and it is the most honest translation when it...

    What do you like most about the church you attend?

    I like that the church I attend is Christ-centred, liturgical, doctrinally sound, and very liberal. It fully accepts LGBT people (including marrying them), and is the friendliest church I have ever attended.

    canceling New Years services

    I don't know, especially if there wasn't going to be a Eucharist. Just about everything else that one does in church can generally be done licitly alone or with a few friends. I wouldn't fret too much over it. Some things aren't worth the stress.

    What exactly makes it a cult? Fundamentalist Christians tend to throw the term "cult" around rather loosely in order to dismiss things with which they disagree, but have nothing more to say against certain organisations.
