    Homosexuals and salvation

Why would I subject myself to even more venom? No thanks. I want nothing to do with such hateful, pseudo-Christians.

    Homosexuals and salvation

I just love the way so many straight people here think they know so much about LGBTQ issues. Really, you have no clue what you're talking about, and you make yourselves look like fools the way you carry on with your supposed wisdom. I've never come across a more offensive thread on this website.

Merry Christmas to you as well.

Happy birthday, hon. I love you! :)

What Bible do you use and why?

I'm going to have to tell my Muslim friends that trick ... thin copies of the Quran ... because big, thick copies of sacred scriptures raise suspicions of radical fundamentalism.

What Bible do you use and why?

I use the the NRSV as my regular Bible for reading, because it is used by the church that I attend for its service readings, and it's a relatively good, liberal translation. I use the Authorised Version for study as it works best with Strong's, and it is the most honest translation when it...

USA Trump Administration forbids CDC from using 7 words

The words aren't controversial. They're true words that the alt-right, God-hating, Trumpists fear.

    Favorite Christmas song

Once in Royal David's City or Hark! The Hairy Angels Sing. While Shepherds Washed Their Socks by Night is good, too.

    Rapture or something else

Because it isn't orthodox, catholic, Christian doctrine. It is wickedness. :P

What do you like most about the church you attend?

I like that the church I attend is Christ-centred, liturgical, doctrinally sound, and very liberal. It fully accepts LGBT people (including marrying them), and is the friendliest church I have ever attended.

    canceling New Years services

I don't know, especially if there wasn't going to be a Eucharist. Just about everything else that one does in church can generally be done licitly alone or with a few friends. I wouldn't fret too much over it. Some things aren't worth the stress.

    First President a Lutheran?

Ah, the ELCA ... the wonderful sister church to the ELCIC which I attend. God bless it and its stance against fundamentalist oppression.

    First President a Lutheran?

Yup. All Canadians know that the US War of Independence was fought under false pretenses. Hence, we stayed out of it and loyal to His Majesty the King.

    Masons in church

What exactly makes it a cult? Fundamentalist Christians tend to throw the term "cult" around rather loosely in order to dismiss things with which they disagree, but have nothing more to say against certain organisations.

What Have You Seen Out Your Window?

There is one black-capped chickadee who visits the bird feeder on deck. I've not seen any other wild birds come by this winter, but there is a large wooded park nearby, and we've not had much snow yet, so they're probably still able to find plenty of natural food. We'll probably get more...

What Climate Change is Doing to The Polar Bears in Canada

As I said before ... typical ultra-conservative US denial.

What Climate Change is Doing to The Polar Bears in Canada

Typical ultra-conservative denial. But I'm not surprised, coming from the US.

    Communion: Four Views

As one of the other Anglicans here, I'd like to note that there are several Anglican beliefs regarding the Eucharist, one of which being the one from the Thirty-nine Articles of Religion which Albion references above, but not all members of the Anglican Communion hold as binding. There is no...
