I love making homemade pizza, though I confess Ive been using a frozen dough lately, I dont often have the patience to plan ahead. But I always tweak and have some tricks for the dough I use to get it just right.
My homemade doughs are hit or miss sometimes, not sure why, but the two-day wait would probly help alot. I used to try to keep a starter dough, but I have to start a new one, lol. Did you get your recipe off the net? And what do you for toppings?
I made my sauce yesterday but I've never made this kind before so I don't know how it will taste. The recipe for my dough I found on the net and it contains barley malt syrup which gives it a unique flavor. Once I get all this perfected I'll post in the recipes area! The style of pizza is called Quad Cities and you'll find it throughout the Chicagoland area. Chicago isn't just for deep dish and stuffed pizzas! This style of pizza has a layer of very finely crumbled sausage and then the cheese goes on top! So good.
