I was working on repairing some wood around the front door frame and found I don't have enough paint. I hate going back to the store for things.

Something like that. It's rather curious blending the subtlety of prising antique window furniture off the wall without damaging it, with using a claw hammer to rip down the wall behind it.

Today I burned the pile of laths from my last wrecking mission, then mowed the lawn. And then I started yet another electrical job that should have taken an hour but hit problem after problem after problem with simply figuring out how to get the cable from A to B. Drilling a hole should be easy but trying to get the drill bit into place is anything but.

I opened an account at my local hardware store because I was in there so much. It's not unheard of for me to be there three times in two days.

Posting on here because I can't sleep any longer as there is to much noise outside my house as a scaffolding truck is picking up stuff .. it's slowly driving me nuts...

It must be really close by your house then?

We do have an Ace Hardware about 10 minutes drive from my house but they're so expensive that I use it only in emergencies. The Lowes and Home Depot are 20 and 45 minutes respectively.

It's a couple of miles away, maybe a little less. It's more expensive than the big box hardware stores but it's close by and I like to shop locally. When I was fixing a sink a couple of months back and having ongoing issues I was in there five times in one morning.

Oh, I would have called a plumber after the 2nd trip!

It was so nice out and I washed my car! The last wash it had was an automated car wash and it squirted wax on the tires. That wax must have been sticky because things are stuck on there and it looks gross.

A plumber would have cost a lot more than the tools, and I wouldn't have learned anything.

It's very early in the morning - but I had some trouble sleeping so I'm just up having a tea "cigarette" (no tobacco) and drinking some coffee with added peach powder. It's very tasty - I am chiding myself for letting my peaches go to waste all these years.

Getting the knack of keeping more of my veggies fresh/growing (after being picked) in containers with a a little water and alternately dehydrating them and other foodstuffs for later/for sauces. I recently dehydrated a bunch of mince meat (after de-fatting it and cooking it (fat goes rancid)) and then re-hydrated to see how long it would take and how it would turn out. It turned out well. Very very close to unplugging fridge at this point.

Finally got a hole drilled in the floor behind my baseboard and a stretch of cable replaced. Now another 30 foot length of old cable can go in the scrap pile.

Trying to deal with a lot of things going on right now...and my cousin died. I only remember him from when I was little and that side of the family is not close.

Sorry to hear that. It sounds of but I often found it particularly hard when a family member I wasn't close to died.

A little more demolition therapy for me. Only had an hour or so, but ripped down another 50 square feet or so of wall. A growing pile of laths awaits the fire pit and another three bags of rubble ready for the landfill.

The HEPA filter bags for my shiny new shop vac arrived, so I can suck up the dust now.

Sorry I missed this. I hope all is well, and praying for everyone.
