In honor of Mothers for Mothers Day, what are some of the things that mom always said while you were growing up?

I'll start it off ... one of the many sayings that my mom would say is


"if you can't say anything nice then don't say anything at all"

My mom use to say a lot of little cryptic sayings that had to be decoded. It's funny how she motivated me by them. The one that helped me survive nursing school was
"Cain't nuthing fail but a try.". I know how that sounds y'all, but it caused me to ponder and to wonder about my capacity to accomplish whatever I wanted to do.
