Regardless of the view there is no excuse for this, I guess the airline agreed as they gave the woman a 1000 dollar flight voucher and uopgraded her

Of course they did. The customer is always right.

Depends.
One said that he asked normal and she yelled and when he wanted to remove the thing over her head she pushed him so it hit her.

Wasn't it another alleged passenger that said those things? I read the article. It sounded like another one of those after-the-fact re-writing of history things that are so common in cases like this.

Why was she allowed thru the gate with a buggy to start with? Isn't it usual that luggage is sent off in a different direction before you board the plan? If there's a blame to be made it would be before boarding the plane. But I tend to think it has to do with whoever would profit from shutting the airlines down. Kinda like the Howard Hughs / MacCarthy incident.

I read that one female flight attendant said she could look if she could put it somewhere and otherwise bring it back. If that's true it's her fault, but the woman could also have used some common sense. Of course you can't leave such a huge thing there.

Frequently with items that won't fit within the cabin they'll have you drop them at the end of the jetway as you're boarding the plane and they'll check them there for you.

Oh yes. I had to do that with the stroller too.
