The Pentecostal church I attended used to do foot washing. The strange thing about them was that they only held a communion and foot washing service on new year's eve.
Of course, that wasn't the only strange thing about them.

Something else from last night that was new to me (and, as such, I didn't take part) they had the baptismal font available for those that wanted to do the sign of the cross prior to receiving communion. Maybe not so different to some, but for me - still learning some things.

It’s interesting that they had the baptismal font available for making the sign of the cross. In my parish church the font is immovable so it would be rather inconvenient to go to it and then return to receive communion. But we have a rite at the beginning of holy week in which the faithful are sprinkled with holy water as token of remembering their baptism. The same rite is performed at other times too. I cannot recall at the moment but I think it may also be used during the Easter Vigil mass.

We also have stoops at all of the entries to the church building and the practise is to dip a finger in and make the sign of the cross as remembrance of one’s baptism.

In Toronto they polished each other's shoes instead. That was smart and not smelly.

Oh man, lololol don't leave us hanging like that!? :=D:

I always wonder if ppl wash their own feet extra-much before going to an event like that.... Like to avoid any embarrassment. Even do extra maintenance on the nails and callouses, etc. Lol. Kinda like brushing real good and using mouthwash before going to the dentist, so you dont have to hear "Ewww, what have you been eating?!".
Can you imagine getting ready to have the footwashing, and the person bends down and takes your shoe off .... And passes out?! :faint:

One needs a fairly vivid imagination to do that.

Foot washing is a wonderful thing, it shows us beings servants to others, it follows the example set by Christ, and it shows humility and sacrifice of self. I truly wish they did more of it

Lol that reminds me, they had a conference there and afterwards they needed 10 or 20 volunteers from the thousands to clean everything up, but you had to pay enough for that conference, so almost noone wanted that and they needed one more and noone put their hand up. Then one man yelled: I'll send my wife! :=D:

My aim is to sit around at home in scanty clothing because it is warm.

Hey, thanks, bro! I have feet ... Come on over! :=D:

One needs a fairly vivid imagination to do that.

So much for the vivid imagination! Ack!
